Alown, probably this was related to your socket.io hack. Please double check 
that your socket.io is correctly patched for utf-8 support, see my first 
comment.

So, I think that this is not currently a problem in WIAB (tested in several 
browsers).

Reopen this issue if you think that your problem persist.
