Guys,

I guess that several of you didn't read in the Digest where I was mentioning
that the Digest was moving toward being automated. Well, we're here.

I still will be able to "moderate" the Digest when I need too and the
WBMUTBB Prayers & Praises will still be done by me by hand (I don't know
what Mike's talking about).

I hope you'll all like it like this because it's gonna free up a LOT of my
time **I HOPE**. It was taking me between 45mins and an hour to do the
Digest each day and I hope this will free up some of my time for other work
on the web page and stuff.

Anyway, I hope you like it and I'll do my best to keep it "our little corner
of Mayberry."

Folks,

Let's give this format a chance. Allan is doing his best for all of us for
free. If this format gives him more time for his family and the website,
great. Most of us (myself included) are not normally receptive to change.
Maybe this will work, maybe it won't, but we have to try. I believe one of
the things about Mayberry is to do/give your best. That's what Allan is
trying to do. Give us his best and make the best use of his time.

Jim Hady

Yes, I am one of the people who has been "out of town" not reading the digest
for awhile, so I though aliens had taken over the digest or something.

I'll have to say, it's not very pretty, but it gets the job done. And if it
helps Alan out, then more power to it!

Now, if I can only figure out how to send this! :-)

I think the "new digest" is a great move. Producing something like this
"manually" becomes a real job. I think as long as someone's keeping an eye
on content to "keep us on track" from time to time, things will go on quite
smoothly.

I received a letter from Columbia telling me that I've received the last of
the TAGS tapes, but that they were thinking of producing more. If they
decide to go ahead, I was told that I would be one of the first to know.

I just want to comment on the folks that do not like changes in the Digest.
I don't write in very often, but I can't let this go by without saying
something. Allan works VERY hard in getting the Digest out 6 days a week.
He loves doing all the web stuff i.e. the Digest, the web sites and so on.
I enjoy reading it every day. I have NO problem with the time that he
spends working on this, he enjoys it so much. BUT he has been telling you
guys that he was working on getting the digest automated so that he would
have more time to work on the web stuff for the site and to be able to spend
more time with his family. He has a little boy that loves for daddy to play
with him. Yes, there are changes in the Digest, but they are very little
changes not enough to complain about. He works TOO HARD for there to be
conplaints over something as small as this. He'll probably edit me but
that's ok. I love him.
I hope that I don't upset anyone by saying what I said, but I just felt like
I had to say something.

I'm all for the new digest system if it makes life easier for Allan. We
should all be thankful to him for all he does for us here in Mayberry,
and if he can save himself 8-9 hours a week by automating the digest
then I say 'Right on!'

Thanks for everything Allan! Your appreciated!

Kail

Allan,

As always, thank you for doing so much for keeping us Mayberryites together.
While I think it may take us all a little bit of time to adjust to the new
format, any time it gives you for other pelasures (including wife and son!)
is a plus for us all. Your labor of love with the digest is appreciated even
if the flavor is just a wee bit different. Both are good, just different.

Thanks to all who responded to my query about a dentist ever being mentioned
on TAGS! You people aren't jerks, you know. After reading your replies I
realized how obvious it is I had my wisdom teeth out almost 30 years ago --
the oral surgeon must have kept most of the wisdom.

"Sure, the scarier the better!"
