It's time for my anniversary announcement, so here goes:
The Who's Been Messin Up The Bulletin Board chapter of the Andy Griffith
Show Rerun Watchers Club is 8 years old this month.
Although Allan & I had a TAGS bulletin board going in April of 1991, it
wasn't until November of that year where we took on-line votes to submit
a name for our own internet chapter. Allan led the way and the winning
name was of course, WBMUTBB. While this chapter was initiated on the
Prodigy network, it eventually migrated to where it is now. Y'all might
want to know that even in it's earliest days, Allan nurtured this board
and made sure that the conversations about our favorite show were civil
and the occasional Ben Weaver's who came along were ushered out.
This board has been a source of joy and comfort for me to read for these
last 8 years. Back then when the group was in the dozens, we exchanged
pictures and seasonal cards. That's still done today, and the member's
photo gallery is a great thing.
I know that Allan has gotten many accolades over time, and believe me,
they're all well deserved. But further than what Allan does here
electronically, those who haven't ever met him are missing out on
something special. Because the spirit of what Allan does for us here,
is the very spirit of the man himself, and more.
I hope that WBMUTBB charter member's Kathy Jo and Rudy check in on this
occasion.
And to Allan, I raise my glass to you and say, "keep up the great
work". God bless you and your family.

Hi neighbors,
A thousand welcomes to the new people in town. Hope to read you hear
often. The way Mayberry keeps growing we may need to add on a new
deputy, LOL.
One observation if I may! We have the new list service. It's working
out great. Kinda neat getting news from you guys more during the day.
BUT we don't want to get the SPCA on our backs so how's about not
beating a dead horse with complaints. I'll have to say that the griping
is not what i'm here for, so lets have some fun. If I want REAL life
all I have to do is turn off the computer and go back outside, hehehhe
Have a great day and Stop Pulling out those Horse Hairs!!!

Allan, I am very pleased to see you get the digest automated. No one should
spend that much time on the computer and away from their little ones. You
should spend more time with your little guy, cause he's only going to be this
little for a very short time. You've got to remember what's important.

Just wanted to put in my two cents worth. I too am one who enjoys
reading the digest and don't write in too often. However I think you
deserve a great big Thank You for all your time and work on the digest.
Thanks so much for making our lives so enjoyable when it comes to
Mayberry.

I can't understand why some folks have left. Kinda like leaving the table
when steak and mashed 'taters is being served! The new format is different
but it is the same kinda stuff from the same kinda people. Kudzu's to Allan.
Or is that Kudos? Whatever.
Looky here - anyone interested in viewing the grave site of Aunt Bea go to
www.findagrave.com and type in Frances Bavier and it will give you a good
shot with the wording on it. Lots of other folks can be found also. I tried
Briscoe but didn't find his'n. Didn't try Jack Dodson or Hal Smith either.
Jest so you'll know, theCameraNut has ordered a new zoom lens of 28-200 to
replace the old 15 year old monster zoom I was using. New one is 'sposed to
be about half the length of the old one so that will help.
See ya on down the road.

For those of you who haven't done so already, order a copy of Don Knott's
autobiography "Don Knotts and other Characters I Have Known" from Weaver's.
It's a great read and provides a good insight into the man we love so much
as Barney Fife. I've read the autobiographies of several other TAGS
characters and some, including Don Knotts, lived anything but an easy
childhood, but managed to overcome their situations and provide us with the
entertainment we enjoy every day.

Hi all!
Last night (my mom's birthday celebration), we were playing TAGS Trivia
Game. One question asked, "Mayberry is located in what county?" The
answer?
Mayberry!!!
We were all surprised. The town and the county share the same name?
Mayberry, Mayberry County, North Carolina?
Maybe so. Just wanted to check.

Paul Mulik wrote that Andys full name is Andrew Jackson Taylor. When Barney
calls Andy "Ange" it is probably a contraction of Andy and Jackson. In
the south a lot of men and boys go by two names IE: Billy Bob, John Boy
etc....so instead of calling Andy, Andrew Jackson or Andy Jack it is "ANJ"
or however you want to spell it.

Subject: Changes in the Digest
Just wanted to say that I love the changes in the digest. Going to
automation will allow all Mayberry fans to benefit even more from Allan's
talent and time. By focusing more time on the web, Allan will be able to
give us even MORE Mayberry and isn't that what we all want? In addition, if
automation allows Allan to spend more time with his family then he's
actually implementing the Mayberry lifestyle instead of just chatting about
it. Way to go, Allan and Jan. Keep up the great work and know that I
appreciate all you've done, are doing, and will continue to do to promote
Mayberry!
