Hey folks,
I've been noticing that we're begining to have more than one WBMUTBB Digest
per day. Myself, I like have more than one per day and keeping them the
length they are now but I'd like to hear from y'all.
Is getting two or more Digests each day a problem for y'all? Would you rather
have one LONG one each day or would you rather keep 'em as they are and just
get more than one some days?

******SALE AT WEAVER'S DEPT. STORE*******
http://mayberry.com/tagsrwc/weavers/
Weaver's has placed the 40th Anniversary Mayberry 2000 Calendar on sale for
$10. That's $2 off the regular price. I'm betting these calendars will become
collectors items just like the 1989 and 1992 calendars have (they sale for
$50 and $35 respectively). I don't know if the value will go up like that but
I know I sure want to make sure I have one or two (one to hang and one for
the collection).
Hope that wasn't too pushy.....Bert.

Now I believe that there has been at least one auto theft. Didn't the "Man
in a Hurry" steal Gomer's truck?
Scott
>>>
That's correct; what I meant to say was "successful auto theft." Andy
caught Mr. Tucker immediately. In another episode, "that Leonard boy" stole
his brother's car, but Andy apparently captured him right away too.
And before anybody says that Barney and Floyd were kidnapped by Big Maude,
that was a hostage situation, not a kidnapping.

Can ya'll tell me what the epilogue is about on the the gold truck episode,
the one in which I star so prominently?
>>>
Back in the courthouse, Barney is fuming about how the T-men didn't trust
the Mayberry Sheriff's Department enough to let them in on their plan (a
decoy - Shazam!). Andy, in an attempt to calm Barney down, tells him that
they just confided in him that the real truck was going through Raleigh. He
warns Barney that this info is top secret, but seconds later the phone rings
and Barney blabs it.

Grocery hat on and says something like "I saw the whole thing Barney tackled
'em like this"
>>>
That's Norman Leavitt, who played several different parts in various
episodes. He later became Wally at the filling station. In this episode, I
think we're supposed to assume that he is Dave, since the scene takes place
in front of Dave's Coffee Shop.

Dear friends,
I am really happy to have TAGS on
TVland. I
have gotten to see the epilogues I had never seen before. I have one
question for Allan. Whatever became of the old Mayberry RFD shows? It
seem no one shows them and I liked them as a
kid. Thanks,

I got to thinking that it would be nice if we all thanked the sponsors of
TAGS on TVLand so I've been trying to remember to watch the commercials
specifically. I accessed websites for the following sponsors: Meridia
medication at www.meridia.com; Geico insurance at www.geico.com; and
found an e-mail address on a jar of Classico pasta sauce at the store as:

wonderful opportunity and to help ensure its continuation. Keep a good

Here's how the Mayberry side will look:
Murder: 0*
Kidnapping: 0
Rape: 0
Child molestation: 0
DUI: 0
Robbery attempts (successful): 0
Auto theft: 0
Illegal drug use: 0 (unless you count moonshine)
...etc., etc.

Mayberry was located in a dry county so Moonshine (or any booze) *was*
illegal we gotta chalk one up for evertime we saw Otis drunk. (Not to mention
Aunt Bee and Barney).

And of course you left out vandelism (Earnest T. Bass) I don't think we can
count him caught (he was able to get out of jail with any effort)

I found it quite interesting tonight that during the Fandemonium Marathon
for " Leave It To Beaver " that Ward Cleaver sang Barney Fife's favorite
song " Juanita " during an episode, I wonder if maybe Ward chased after her
in his earlier days and if he knew Barney Fife, ain't TV Land
grand?........Lotsa Luck to You & Yours.......Dave.

I believe Andy said that the MAYOR wouldn't be stuck up in a tree with his
clothes all tore up, not Jess Morgan. Andy's right, too. If the mayor hadn't
mistrusted Jess (and Andy's judgment) enough to have the sheriff take him out
looking for him, the bear would have evenutually left, and Jess would have come
back to jail just like he said he would, and the bear never would'a seen the
inside of the squad car, neither.
