Good Montana friend Tom (..I envy your surroundings)

Don't want to start a molouge here. I respect your thoughts as everyone
here. I do think the series of notes from LLH used many Griffith-esq
themes, and allowed others to respond with specific TAGS examples
(dropping fork, smacking with spoon etc.). I too at times bring in
personal experiences with a Mayberry view. Like all topics, it may have
run its course, but I didn't find it in violation of the rules. Just
like the Andy episodes, here at the Digest there are some topics I like
better than others. It is a fine line, and you're right, Allan wants us
to stay on topic, so I could be wrong. (wouldn't be first time)
Why don't you tell us more about Jim Nabors and what kind of place he
has out there!!!

Joe in Indiana
(where Jim Nabors comes once a year to sing at the 500)

ps; coming soon a new Lost Episode

I know that this has been discussed before.. But, if I could, can I ask
someone to send me the list of the episodes that are available from Columbia
House. Send it to me directly, PLEASE> [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks for any help.

Tom,
Let's also remember the rules about being polite to one another. Not
everything that comes through the digest is actually about the show.
But, we are a community...citizens of Mayberry. We are supposed to be
friends. I, for one, don't have a problem with someone asking for a
little advice.

I enjoyed the way the Laura Lee DID link her dilemma with Andy and the
gang. It has been almost as much fun reading everyone's advice to her
(and how they link it to the show) as watching the show.
From the amount of responses that she got, apparently other people
enjoyed it as well.

You know, Joe's little episodes that he writes are not "really" about
the actual show, but they are fun to read. I have everyone of his
episodes saved. What about some of discussions about restoring old
patrol cars? What has that got to do with the show? But, it is of an
intrest to some of our citizens and therefore, is important.

In other words, unless someone is being extremely rude or obnoxious,
let's not complain. Laura's feelings are probably hurt. Think of how
our group must look to all of the new citizens. There has been too much
criticism lately.

I hope that I haven't went too far in my "scolding" and that I am not
blackballed from the group. I just can't stand the thought of anyone
getting their feelings hurt...especially someone as nice as Laura Lee.

Wow! Andy got "Old Eagle-eye Annie" back! I've always felt sorry for him
for losing it and now thanks to TV Land I see that Aunt Bee got to enjoy her
bed jacket and Andy was able to keep on fishin' with his favorite rod and
reel too - what a treat! Long live epilogs!

I'll bet Clara could have helped LauraLee with the forks. Anyone who
could grow roses and make pickles like she could was probably well
schooled in the art of gracious living.

Re: commercials on TVLand

If it helps, Nancy, just remind yourself of all us poor souls who are
stranded out here without getting any TAGS at all! I'd be glad to put
up with a few commercials. These withdrawals are killing me!

Re: life story
Now, granted, I agree the Digest should be just for TAGS, and forgive
me for getting carried away on personal problems (like I said, no TAGS
can do funny things to a person's mind). And if it'll make you happy, I'll
get down under there with them spiders for a spell. But may I also add, in
the
words of our dear friend Gomer, "Tom Lawrence, you just go up an ally
and holler fish." I said it, and I ain't taking it back. Besides, I
don't know how to start up my own web site. So, you're stuck with me.

Subject: Sharing TAGS

I have a wonderful idea!
Ya'll know how I'm not receiving TAGS now? Well, I know I can't be the
only one not receiving it, so how about somebody--say Paul--telling us
each morning what the TVLand episode was about the night before, and
giving us a description of the epilogue? That way, we can sort of feel like
we belong too. And we can get a taste of some of the endings we may have
never seen before. Come on, please?
I really may not be long for this world and you know you want my last
days pleasant...cough, cough,
"It ain't like you to deny the sick."

Subject: Andy & Aunt Bee

Haven't had time to read my digests lately, so I don't know what the topics
have been, but I was just thinking about the relationship between Andy &
Aunt Bee. You'll recall, I wrote in a few months back about how Andy's
personality changed over the course of the series (more irritable, etc.)
and it got me to thinking about his regard for Aunt Bee. In the early
episodes, their positions in the family were very nearly equal; in fact,
Aunt Bee, as his elder who helped raise him, had a slightly higher
position. She would sometimes tell him what to do, and he would reply,
"Yes, ma'am." In the later episodes (particularly when she buys the car)
he seems to have much less respect for her, treating her like a child at
times. Worse, perhaps, is the fact that she often allows it, asking him
for permission to do things which she, as an adult, has every right to do.

Mayberry was located in a dry county so Moonshine (or any booze) *was*
illegal we gotta chalk one up for evertime we saw Otis drunk. (Not to mention
Aunt Bee and Barney).

>>>Possessing alcohol wasn't illegal in Mayberry,there just weren't liquor
stores or bars.Least that's the way I understood it....
