This has probally already been in the digest before but I have a bet with
my girlfriend that I am sure y'all can help me win.In the episode shown on
TV land on Feb14 where ole Rafe Hollister sings in the talent show. In the
mayors office there were two pictures on the wall, they are long and appear
to be of a large group of people does anybody know who is in the picture. I
think it probally is the cast but I am not sure but like I said I bet my
girlfriend that I could find out. If anybody knows they can e-mail me
directly or just post it in the digest. Thanks for y'alls help with this.

Phil- stay at the Mayberry Motor Inn. It's nice, real nice. The rooms
have nice furniture and decor just like Aunt Bee would do it. The owner
also bought alot of stuff from Frances Bavier's estate and has made an
Aunt Bee's room. It is quite special but you cant stay in it, just look
at it. Call early for reservations!

I've checked the epilogues, and it wasn't there, so can someone give me the
ending to the episode "Mr. Darling Declares for Aunt Bee."
>>

Aunt Bee goes out to the squad car while Andy has a short talk with Briscoe.
The sheriff promises not to prosecute Mr. Darling for breach of promise,
then Aunt Bee calls Briscoe over. After first checking to make sure she
doesn't have a spoon, Briscoe goes over and Aunt Bee gives him a goodbye
kiss, saying, "Thank you for wanting me." Briscoe says something like,
"Your kisses are nice and highly valuable, but to be perfectly honest, they
just ain't worth the pain."

For a pretty woman that reads rose poetry, she sure packs a mean spoon!

Subject: Favorite Minor Characters

Laura Lee might have hit on something here, about favorite minor
characters. First of all, let me go ahead and get it out of the way -
there are no minor characters, just minor actors (I suppose Leon would
qualify for that). I have my favorite picked out, then I thought about a
sub-contest. I can see the awards ceremony now - And the award for
Favorite Actor in a Non-Speaking Role is....... See, this even leaves out
Johnny Coons because Johnny did speak in one episode. Stuck? I've already
given you one hint...Leon...and how about Mr. Shwump? I'm sure if you use
your bucket, you can come up with some others....after all, we're all
trained noticers.

Since I posted the message about switching to DishNetwork to view TAGS on
TVLand, it is interesting for me to see that Paul and Karen agree how great
their service is. I sure have not regretted that move away from cable 3
years ago.

How many of you watch Leave It To Beaver after TAGS on week nights? I
haven't watched LITB for many years. I often watch it after TAGS. The last
few years of LITB were on during the first few years of TAGS. The Beav and
Wally (when he was younger) would get into trouble and try to hide it
thinking that their parents, Ward and June, would never find out. But Ward
and June would always find out and explain why they shouuldn't have done
what they did and how the boys could always come to them when they were in
trouble. That show reminds me so much of TAGS. Both shows exhibited
respect for adults, respect for each other, family values, morality and
honesty.

I've watched TAGS for years because of TBS and WGN. Now that I can see
LITB again, I see quite a resemblance to TAGS. LITB did not have as many
unique and interesting characters as TAGS, but it still is a good show to
let children watch.

Subject: Larry McPeak

Friends,

I just spoke with Tim White of the VW Boys concerning our friend and fellow
VW Boy Larry McPeak. Tim tells me Larry is in good spirits but is very, very
ill.

For those of you who don't know, Larry has been diagnosed with a disease that
is destroying his liver. He will have to have a transplant. They tell me it
is like the disease that Jim Nabors had a few years back.

Larry sends his sincere thanks to those of you who have sent cards letting
him know you are thinking of him.

The operation Larry faces will cost $125,000. He must come up with $35,000 to
even have his name put on the transplant list. After the operation he will
need medication for several years at a cost of around $1,500 per month.

Several of our digest friends have offered to send in donations to help Larry
meet these expenses. They are in the process of setting up a fund for this
cause. In the meantime donations can be sent to Larry's home address. Please
note on the check it is for the 'Transplant Fund'.

If anyone would like to send Larry a card or note or a small donation please
send them to:
Larry McPeak
1180 Sunset Street
Wytheville, VA 24382

Thanks to all for your concern and keep Larry in your thoughts and prayers.

Subject: My Favorite Minor Character

To reply to my most favorite minor character it would have to be Ernest
T. Bass. From his undying love to Miss Darling to his lovely "hooty
hoo," Ernest is my favorite. It also helps that I mis-quote his famous
line of, "It's me, it's me, it's Ernest T" - - I always insert my name
and initial. . .Betsy B. Everyone knows that I am a faithful watcher of
TAGS. Thanks for this great digest - this is my first time responding.

Subject: Pipe down, Otis

My vote for favorite secondary character goes to Otis Campbell. Choice
moments- Otis drinking Andy's "fixer-uper" (in "Dogs, Dogs, Dogs") and
rolling his eyes; and the episode "Aunt Bee, the Warden", singing the Dipsy
Doodle song! "...What a mess I've made of my life!"
Well, I guess I'd better go re-plant that back forty now, so signing
off...

Did y'all see tonight's episode, the very first with Luanne Poovey. When
I was a little kid, I thought that Luanne Poovey was the ideal woman. I
wanted to grow up to be just like her, except for the bad singing in the
sleazy nightclub part. Tonight Sgt. Carter and Duke were extra sleazy
trying to pick up Miss Poovey. No wonder she went for Gomer instead.
