I am so gald that y'all been talkin bout TV Land doin some o the epilogues o
TAGS. Our new-fangled cable company is gettin ready to add TV Land to our
channels.
Some o the episodes don't make no sense without em. For example, didn't you
always think somethin' was a little off-center about Earnest T's darlin'
Romina when he went to the social? When I finally saw the epilogue, I
danced around the room yellin' "I knew it! I knew it!"

That's right, I said and I ain't takin' it back, neither.

Nutsy ("Citizen's aray-est! Citizen's aray-est!")

<<[Helen Crump] had one of the show's all-time best one-liners, perhaps
aided by the fact that it was so unexpected.>>

Would that be her response to Barney when he thought he could take on Ernest
T. Bass?

I thought of another favorite line that has many real-life applications:
"You're not talkin' to a jerk, you know."

Watched "My Fair Ernest T" last night. Didn't they leave off the
epilogue? I seem to recall them talking how Romona came from a family of
nuts, who burned down a town then started a charcoal company.

Another thing I noticed was something that Barney said. Upon seeing
Ernest T's transformation, he said to Andy, "If you put this in a play,
nobody would believe it!" I figure that's a direct reference to this
being a take off of "My Fair Lady" or "Pygmaleon". Very clever, as
Barney sez! I also recall that Mrs Wiley was on the Beverly Hillbillies
as the head mistress at the private school where Jethro graduated 6th
grade!

Don't forget that the Gomer Pyle USMC Marathon is on this weekend on
TVland, March 11th and 12th. It's gonna be BIG, also. Go to
http://www.nick-at-nite.com, and vote for your favorite episodes. There
are some great TAGS related episodes, ex. various visitors from TAGS...
Opie, Goober, Aunt Bee. And an episode where Gomer visits Mayberry. At
the Nick at Nite/TVland site, you can also register to win a Gomer Pyle
lunch box, I believe it's vintage, not a reproduction.

Your Mayberry Friend,
Mary Foti
