Most of the people of that time period in the south believed a lot alike. Personally, I liked the fact that references were made to people going to church, and asked blessings over their food, etc. We have dear friends who attend James River Assembly of God in Springfield, Mo and one of their elective classes uses the TAGS Bible study series! I always enjoyed the shows where they were singing in church. The show about needing a new organ hit home, as we are musicians where we go to worship. It seems that on TAGS, some people had problems that were shown openly, whether wife beaters or drinking. Isn't it good to know that when we acknowledge our problems...there are people and GOD who will love us and help us, who ever they may be! We still live in a wonderful country and it is good to be alive! | ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 Mar 2000 17:13:24 -0600 From: "James Seay" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Prison Guards I have noticed over the past few years several letters and members of our club are prison guards. I too was a prison guard here in Kentucky for years, and it was also during that time that I began sharpening my skills as a Andy Griffith Trivia Buff. I worked death row here for a year or so and everyday when I came in I would get several trivia questions from the inmates trying to fool the old expert. TV is a mighty big part of a prisoners life and Andy is one of their favorites. I being of small stature was always being asked to do my Barney impersonations, and I loved to do the "Now boys here at the rock, we have three rules" It was quite a hoot. I guess everybody loves Andy. and I sure loved being Barney and was probably about a good a guard as Barney would have been. Oh well just something to offer the digest. I only wish that they hadn't had to cut out some of my favorite scenes! But, as Andy might say, "Don't the trees seem nice and full!" He always had a way of looking at the bright side! However, I have a question/challenge to all the very talented and creative members of the list. Would it be possible, do you suppose, to write an entirely new script using just the scenes and lines from existing Andy Griffith episodes? I just got to thinking that if some smart young fella or gal COULD write such a script, then another bright young gal or fella who had one of them fancy new computers and a good set of the Andy Griffith show on DVD, might be able to cut and splice (is that the right term?) a whole new black-and-white show! Wouldn't that be wonderful? Well, just wondering, while I was sitting here peeling this here apple without breaking the peel. Joe Fly, Lubbock, TX "You know what we got to do? We also just finished up a Wednesday night "Back to Mayberry" Bible study. It was great! We even had a Mayberry related craft each time for the kids to do after the show while we big kids had our study. It was pointed out to me I had made a misteak in my writings, and that was Chester from the radio Gunsmoke was cutting hair. Chester became the Mayor on TAGS and Doc Adams from the old radio Gunsmoke was Floyd. I admit my mistakes and am not ashamed to do so. Every one of my pencils has a well worn eraser!! Guten Tag. There is supposed to be more cars to follow soon. Does anyone know who ran the auction, and when the next one of the 63 Galaxy will be put up for auction? If so, please email me, so I can get more information including a picture from the seller.
