OK, Bob, you asked what episode did Johnny Coons say very clearly, "Good
luck, Barney."

Laura Lee, Laura Lee: Just when I thought I had a tough one, it's gets
answered right away! Wait a minute! That WAS a tough one, and you
deserve all the credit for your correct answer. Since Johnny's back was
towards us in the scene, with only a slight profile, one must take an
extra close look at his jaws moving as he said it.

Good job and a can of 30 weight oil to you. Or do you care how much it
weighs?

Hey Sandi - take a look at the "Rafe Hollister Sings" episode next
time you get a chance, or right here if'n you got one of those
internet connections that runs like Gilly Walker drives (speed speed
speed)

http://www.liketelevision.com/web1/classictv/andy13/andyg13.html

Anyway, in several spots in that episode we get to hear Barney doing
his vocal exercises - they sound pretty close to and as least as
annoying as the Me.com commercials, dont'ya think. Maybe running
these commercials near TAGS makes a little more sense than we thought.

Now, whenever I see that commercial I say what Rafe Hollister said
when Barney was caterwauling "How long's he been ailin'?"

Yes there are, but you gotta be sharp-eyed to spot them. In several
episodes, a photo portrait of a lovely young woman can be seen hanging in
the Taylor home. Take a close look, and you'll see that it's not just an
old photo that the studio had lying around -- it's a photo of Frances
Bavier, taken sometime around 1925.

Also, in some episodes, there's a photo of Aunt Bee in Opie's bedroom.

Does anyone know who really played the guitar when Jim was on? It is obvious
in watching those episodes that James Best was faking it, and that someone
else was doing the real playing. Whoever it was could flat-out play, and I'd
love to be able to pick up some of his music!

I recently watched No Time for Sergeants (Birthday present:) and someone had
said that Don Knotts is in the movie. What part did he play? I don't
remember seeing him in the movie? The version I have is the video made
from the original tv movie.

Thanks,
Donny

Don wasn't in the TV production of No Time for Sergeants. He was in the
movie version. You can get the actual movie at Weaver's. The present you
have must have been a video of the airing of the old TV production. It airs
from time to time and I've seen it once.

TV Land started airing the TAGS color episodes today at 10:00 and
10:30 am. The 10:00 am show was episode 160 (Opie's First Job),
so there is some overlap from their last color episode broadcasts.
The 7:00 and 10:00 pm shows will continue to be B&W. If you need

I didn't see the special on TAGS on TVLand. That's why I brought up the
problem about no African-Americans (or blacks as we were told to say in the
60's - it seemed better than "colored"). I've always loved Andy and his
friends, but always felt bad that there were only whites on it. I think if
the censors had been a bit braver, Andy could have been too. Everybody
should have been able to love Mayberry, not just wasps. I hope there was
somethiong there for everybody.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!
