Thank you Dixon...I got "Floyd the Gay Deceiver " on tape!!! I am ever so
grateful to you for your help! ( Now I am on a quest to get "Divorce,
Mountain Style".)
I also want to say how wonderful it is to see that one of the writers of
"TAGS" actually corresponds with us from time to time. I am so looking
forward to hearing from Mr. Bullock again!...It's so great to be a part of
"Mayberry".

All right now. To everyone on the digest who has made
a spelling or gramatical error or caught someone
making one, let's all sing a chorus of Dirty Me, Dirty
Me, I'm disgusted with myself.

Also, what a pleasure to know that Mr. Bullock joins
us in our little world here. Now there's a prince for
you.

For triplet's climatic, top-dog, all time winner I vote for the convesation
betwixt Barney and Andy on the porch when Mr. Tucker was waiting for his car
to be fixed. I believe it's also Bid-Head in Dee-troit's famous signature
line:

"Think I'll go home, take a nap, then to Thelma Lous for a little TV."

"Go, go, go, just do it." (Or something like that.....help me out Koontz.)

Hey To All!
I don't remember Betty Lynn being in this movie but I have a copy of it. I
will get it out, watch it and report back! Guess if she was in it, she will
be in the credits of the movie too.

If THIS is true, then I'm telling you, it was Betty Lynn's identical
twin sister in the movie!

By the way, if anyone has a copy of this movie (VHS) that they'd be
willing to sell or trade, let me know. I have been trying to find one
for months. Does anyone know if they ever made a movie version of the
sequel, "Belles on Their Toes"? I just read the book and it is as good
or better that the first book!

Hi To All!
I rescued a cocker spaniel from being abused last year. I named him....Opie
Taylor!!! LOL, usually just calling Opie or Ope but when he gets into
mischief, its Opie Taylor and my last name! Ha!

My older cocker spaniel was named after Mickey Mouse.

Perhaps Betty Lynn appeared in the sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen which
was Belles on their Toes. I know I saw her dance with Clifton Webb at
one time and she was portraying a southern belle.

I once had a cat, before my allergies got out of hand, we named Floyd in
honor of our favorite barber!

I stand in Awe of Mr. Mulik! He's right up there with Leonard Blush! I
appreciate his quick and timely responses! Here's one for him (or
anyone else for that matter). Who's the fella that plays the sergant
when Earnest T tries to get into the Army? He also played a worker at
Crowley's market....and a farmer selling bootleg produce behind main
street. I can't think of his real name. He may have been in more
episodes.

Subject: Nesselrode Pie

According to my dictionary, Russian Count (no relation to Istvan Telecky)
Karl Robert Nesselrode's chef invented nesselrode in the 1840's. It is
traditionally a mixture of preserved fruits and nuts used as a sauce or
in puddings, pies, ice cream, etc. I concocted my own version for a
party once and Jim included it in his second cookbook "Aunt Bee's
Delightful Desserts" as Ethel Montgomery St. John's Nesselrode Pie! He's
so clever. And I was so proud! Aunt Bee of Orlando

The recent talk of the recipe for Nesslerode pie in the Cookbook reminds me of
my favorite entry in the Cookbook. Submitted by one of the Dillards, there is
a great recipe for roast pig. Set one pig loose in a house, set the house on
fire, end result, roast pig! I haven't tried it yet, kind of a steep price for
roast pig, but maybe one day!

She had a sweet-as-sugar disposition and big beautiful brown eyes. A

Subject: Gomer's outfit

Recent postings about the "Mary Grace / Gomer" episode reminded me of Gomer's
new outfit for the dance. I well remember the fad of shoes with buckles on
the sides and for that matter, pants with the buckle in the back. I have
some yellow socks too but I shave my legs so the hairs won't pop out through
the little holes. The scene where Gomer was showing Andy his new purple tie
with the acorns was a scream, especially when Andy rolled his eyes like I've
seen him do on several occasions (usually having something to do with Goober
and/or Gomer). This is one of my very favorite episodes too.

Don't forget the nickname he claimed he couldn't shake..."Fast Gun Fife".
And then there was the time he was undercover and he claimed he'd been called
everything from "Chopper" to "Maddog" but never "Tattletale"...

B. Weatherspoon asked how many of us have pets with TAGS names. I have five
goats: Andy (when he's being ornery, I use his full name: Andrew Jackson
Taylor - - he is usually called by his full name!), Helen, Thelma Lou,
Charlene, and Juanita. I had another pretty little goat, Hilda Mae, but she
just died last Friday. The tears on my pillow bespeak the pain which is in
my heart (no fooling). I have lots of dogs and cats but my family wouldn't
let me name them. The rabblerousers!

Two more names that, according to legend, Barney was called were "Mad
Dog" and "Chopper"...and then there's the one name he's NEVER been
called: "Tattletale". I just love it when he says that. What superb
writing! That scene was from "Jailbreak" by the way..written by Harvey
Bullock. Thank you so much, Harvey Bullock.

Subject: Mayberry Days Silent Auction

I don't think I've got enough talent to MAKE anything for the auction
but there are bound to be lots of items a person could BUY and donate to
the auction. Heck, I can think of several without getting under the
bucket (didn't somebody donate a bucket last year?...a "take a thank
under thar" bucket). How about a Leathercraft Set, a Metalcraft Set, OR
a Mr. Potato Set! A nice bed jacket. A dozen canning jars. A beer can
opener with a little umbrella on top. A pan of cashew fudge. A set of
Blue Willow dishes. (I'm already looking around for a nice set of the
dishes to donate)

Anyhow, that's just my two cents on donation ideas. I plan on donating
a few more more cents that were run over by a train, too.
