So, should we all chip in and buy Allen a genuine stainless steel watch with
"NINE" engraved on the back?

I was watching a color episode last night and saw Floyd the barber walking.
This was
the episode where Aunt Bee won a Fridge, garbage disposal, etc. on a game
show.
I was under the impression that after Howard McNear's stroke, that he
couldn't walk and that
he was always sitting down on the episodes after that. Was this some kind
of Hollywood
trick?

The Darlings were really a bluegrass group called the "Dillards". Go to a
site called CD Now and they can find any recording that is still around (and
a few that aren't)

Disappointing to hear that Andy is stumping for a Democrat when all his shows
reflected the Republican ideals. I can only hope it was a Conservative
Democrat if there is any such thing. <<<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>>>

I got home today and got the mail and there was this
envelope from Los Angeles, California, It was a card envelope,
all I could think of was, I wonder who would send me a card from
Californi.
So I just threw caution to the wind and opened it, and lo and behold there
was
a thank you note and autographed picture from Allan Melvin, And for me this
is Big, Real Big,
Big Big. Now I had sent Mr. Bullock one of my Jl-327 License plates and
put a second in with it for
him to give to Mr. Melvin, Since they are good friends. I never expected any
return correspondence,
I just wanted to give something back to some of the people that have given
me and so many
such viewing pleasure over the years. I didn't post it before but I got a
nice letter from Mr. Bullock
also after he received the plates. It just makes you feel a little warm and
fuzzy all over when these
people who are National treasures take a few moments out of their very busy
and hectic lives
to acknowledge us appreciators of fine art.

Folks,

Let's not get into politics here on the Digest. This isn't the place.
Thanks.

Can anyone out there tell me if Hal Smith (Otis) was the cartoon voice

Awhile back I saw the Hal Smith Lighter with enclosed photo at Weaver's and
did not have funds to purchase it but if someone might have an extra one they
might like to part with I would glady appreciate it.
thanks,

Hey, The other night on the show Politically Incorrect they had a short
discussion about TAGS. Some was funny but I was highly insulted to hear
them accuse Floyd of being a homosexual. Obviously these guys are not
trained noticers or they would know that Floyd had a wife named Melba and a
sax playing son. Not to mentioned a pen pal girlfriend. However, we do
know that Floyd Lawson was a deceitful wretch. I hate to hear disrescept
for the memory of a fine man, Howard McNear (He was a PRINCE.)
Thanks for listening, Maria

I was able to catch the last half of the short film "What it was was
Football" on NC public TV last Saturday night. It was on a show called NC
Visions. I hate that I missed half and have tried to discover when it will
be on again with no success. Anyone see it? Anyone know when it will be on
again? Thanks, Maria

This is a perfect example of why Mayberry is Mayberry! Think about all the
times Andy did something or said something just to make someone else feel
good and happy about themselves. And other people too. Can you imagine what
they put up with?....wallpaper paste Chicken Ala King, those meatballs,
sermons dry as dust, Gomer's night seranade, so many examples. Mayberry
just makes a person be a better person, doesn't it?

Harriet, trying to be a better person every day!
