I was watching an episode of "The Real McCoy's" today and there was Floyd,
pretending to be a newspaper reporter named Elroy. I knew it was Floyd
because not only did he look just like Floyd, he also acted just like Floyd.

Subject: Johnny & Tom

Last Friday shortly after 4pm when I was contemplating burning my Florida
birth certificate, I turned to Andy. I watched 1 of my mom's Columbia House
tapes, "Goober Greats." In the closing crdits of "Goober takes a car apart"
these names were listed.

Man 1 Stanley Farrar
Man 2 Johnny Coons
Man Tom Jacobs

We all remember the recent discussion about the discovery that the one who
some thought was Johnny Coons was actually Tom Jacobs. Perhaps some of you
trained noticers can determine from this episode the identiies of Johhny &
Tom.

Well, I've been catching some of the color episodes, and I've come to the
realization that I like the Warren shows better than the ones where Andy went
solo and basically played straight man to the whole town. You know, I don't
even see where Warren was really "steppin' on Barney's shoes" all that much
- -- his comedy was fairly unique. Those early shows in 65 & 66 were closer in
tone to the B&W years, than any of the episodes post Warren. So I think his
loss was our loss.

Anyway, I've heard Jack Burns was a little bitter over his treatment when
they removed his character, and it would sure be nice to contact the man to
let him know that he's appreciated for his contribution to the show. Does
anyone know if he's still with us?

How about the "Finger Printing" kit used in the Count
Isvanteleki episode where he does the famous Knotts shake?!
Same shake he perfected in "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"!

I LOVE that shot of Goob, Floyd and Barn in the semi dark
back room when Andy comes in and they're frozen with just
their profiles showing in the dark. That there is some
serious art work, that there is! I'd LOVE to have a
picture of that suitable for framing!

Feliz Navedaz to you and yours, (Is he one of ours?)

I gave you credit, of course, my friends know I'm not that creative, no way
I could pass it off as my own!

Howdy! Seein9 how it9s that special time of year and all, and seein9 how
it9s that time when the video of 3It9s a Wonderful Life2 comes out and all,
I9ve got a cast member sightin9 to report. No, it9s not the usual Sheldon
Leonard observation. Early on in the movie, 3George2 and 3Mary2 are walkin9
down the street together. (It9s after the jitterbug contest.) There9s a
man on the porch who tells 3George2 that he oughta go ahead and kiss her.
That man on the porch is none other than our own Mayor Pike. It9s a little
hard to tell, but it9s him!
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to you and yours from

Without a doubt, my favorite Barney prop is the lamp he is using in
questioning Otis. It gets me every time I watch it. I always call everybody
in the house in to watch it.

<< << Of all the props Barney
has used in his hilarious hijinks, which was my favorite? >>

Hands down winner: that motorcycle, with the helmet, gogglesand sidecar.
Barney got me ROFL just by showing up in that getup. The scene in which the
hand reaches out from under the station wagon to snatch his chalk marker
away
 from him is priceless. >>

Hello from a new member! We saw this episode awhile back and it remains one
of my favorites. "Checkpoint Chickie!" "You give 'em twenty, they'll take
twenty-five. You give 'em twenty-five, they'll take thirty..."

And if I can combine my posts, let me add that after TAGS my favorite old
shows are The Dick Van Dyke Show and Dragnet. We've seen several actors
who've appeared on TAGS in guest appearances on Dragnet. We LOVE it when we
see someone from TAGS on another show or in a film, as in the already
mentioned THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL which had both Aunt Bee and John
Masters in it.

I'm really enjoying the newsletter; thanks for creating it.

I don't remember the second episode you mention - Jack N. being the father
of an abandoned baby. Is it possible I've actually missed an episode? Say
it isn't so!
Please elaborate!<<<

Linda--Episode 202 "Opie Finds a Baby" is the one where he and Arnold care
for an abandoned baby. IF TVland continues its currently run of Color
episodes you may get to see it.

Thanks for the E-card Allan...very clever and delightful

I too will jump on the Color episode bandwagon. There are some real
classics in color...I think they just came fewer and far between than the
B&W. .. And Warren has to be the most under appreciated actor on the show.
He was no Barney Fife...but he was a pretty funny Warren.

funny Barney props...beside Cymbals and Motorcycle goggles.... Ruler (where
are you gettin it, where are you gettin' it) Andy's hat
(that fits down over his ears) ...That chin-strap stretching contraption
(Barney did too hang himself) Mrs. McGruders mop and mop bucket...Buffalo
Nickel...Candle et al to contact Count Istvan Telecky...Love poem book...the
phone (Cock-a-doodle do)..the cot blanket when Andy pinned him under the
blanket....its a never ending list.

Thanks for the great report from Danville...Betty Lynn is just priceless
isn't she? When I saw her at a recent show, I just wanted to carry her
groceries home and help make fudge brownies.

Hey to you and yours,
Concerning the recent comments about the rules of the
BB I have to agree with Allen. Hey if you give em
FORTY they'll take FORTY-FIVE! You read any book on
the subject of rule breaking and there all in favor of
