i'm gonna' take a shot at the trivia question asked which was: "what was
andy's address on the show." if i'm not mistaken 2 different addresses were
given for andy's house. i think it was 332 maple, and 14 maple. if i'm wrong
it may be because of the mullberry squeezins the boys let me drink! tim

Thanks for that information, Eileen. I've gotten some pieces from
different people on ebay. All of them have been made by a company in
England, called Churchill, and are microwave and dishwasher safe. I'm
going to check out the Betty Crocker site. We eat on them as we listen
to TAGS at supper time here in middle Georgia. Mary Grace in Georgia

Subject: Howard, stand up for your girl!

Howard Sprague may have had a mild, sort of momma's boy image (I hope I'm not
breaking rules here
- -- sorry if I am) but he sure stood up to that Clyde Plott in "Howard's Main
Event". I know it
took some time, but he decided that his relationship with Millie was worth
protecting, and I was
proud of him for standing up to Clyde. And didn't Clyde back down quickly when
he saw that Howard
would fight him! It was great and gave me a new respect for Howard. Of
course, the next guy who
liked Millie wasn't so much of the backing-down type, but as Andy said,
"Howard, it don't work that
way every time."

Someone mentioned hearing laugh tracks repeated in TAGS episodes. (The
contributer
mentioned they could recognize certain tracks in other TAGS shows.)
Here is a little bit of trivia I read in Lucille Ball's
autobiography, "Love, Lucy". She mentions that her husband, Desi, made a point
of recording the laughter in the audience, and that he made the laugh tracks
from his beloved I Love Lucy available for OTHER shows to use;
After all, The Andy Griffith Show was filmed at Desilu. Perk up your ears!
Who knows, you might one day hear "Ricky" laugh during a scene in TAGS!! Who
knows........

Crystal- Maybe there never was such a thing as a black & white set...
possibly the WORLD was just black and white back then!!!

Speaking of being old...

Does anyone remember a 60's song called "Summer Place" or it might
be called "There's a Summer Place"? The reason I ask is because the
song playing in the diner during Flora's first appearance sounds
alot like "S.P." It's the episode where Goober keeps hanging out at
the diner because he wants to go out with Flora.

I wanted to add my 2 cents about "Blue Willlow
China"...I have some new Blue Willow, purchased about
2 years ago, the stamp on the back says it is made by:
New Churchill in Straffordshire Endland ( maybe Malcom
Merriweather knows where that is) I got it from Lowes
Food (a grocery store). I also have some old Blue
Willow, that belonged to my grandmother and is at
least 40 years old, the stamp on the back of it is all
written in Chinese (So I guess it is Blue Willow
China) I bet thats the kind Aunt Bee used in he
chinese Restaurant (haha). My grandmother loved hers ,
I have such fond memories of all my family eating
Sunday Dinner at her house on Blue Willow Plates (she
cooked like Aunt Bee too), gosh now I am hungry for
some cornbread and cabbage!

Lately I've been listening to a lot of music by the vocal band Rockapella.
They're sort of a "doo-wop" group; you've probably heard their Folger's
Coffee and Coca-Cola commercials. They were also the "house band" on the
kids' show "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" for several years.

Anyway, the other day, while listening to one of their songs, I was
pleasantly surprised to hear a familiar voice. In the middle of this song,
a brief snippet of the voice of a TAGS cast member can be heard. Who can
name the cast member and the song? (I'll bet Mike Creech knows this one!)

Subject: Civil War Songs

The other day someone posed the question about the three Civil War Songs
heard in the episode "The Horse Trader" (the one where Andy and Barney try
to sell the cannon). The songs are "When Johnny Comes Marching Home,"
"Kingdom Coming," and "The Girl I Left Behind Me." The last one is actually
a Revolutionary War song, that seems to have had a re-birth with the Civil
War.

Wow, Mike, we must be kindred souls. I've noticed the same thing about
laugh tracks. Although I thought that woman said "uh-oh" with a chuckle on
the end. It's on at least once every "I Love Lucy" show. Oh, and remember
how, in the 70s, all the shows used to say, "_______" was filmed in front of
a live audience." All the sitcoms of the day used to do that -- when did
they stop doing that? Did the audiences die? (bad joke).

Believe it or not, not all of the vehicles on TAGS were Fords...only the new
ones and the squad cars. I've seen a few Chevys here and there, including a
'65 Impala that popped up twice in last night's color episode (the one where
the stalker tries to get Howard to quit seeing Millie). So that doesn't
necessarily mean the Darlings' truck is a Ford, although it may be.
