For years, I thought I was the only one who saw that. Turns out I'm
not the only trained noticer in the bunch. I have similar memories
to Robin's, 'cept it was Stroghs that uh, my friends crossed the

Mayberry friends,
As many of you know, we will soon be losing a very special part of our
Mayberry existence. After 19 years our "Head Goober", Jim Clark, has decided
to hang up his Editor hat and put the "Bullet" out to pasture.
I wanted to use this forum to publicly thank Jim for all his years of
hard work in keeping all of us "lesser Goobers" up to date with our favorite
little town and the folks who reside there.
Jim has spent countless hours researching, writing, interviewing, typing
and stamp licking to get this publication out to us every few months.
Mayberry simply does not have a better friend than Jim Clark. I have
known Jim personally since around 1985 and he has always been there for me.
Whether I had a question about the show, needed information about contacting
someone or just wanted to say "Yo", he is there.
Through Jim's efforts, many of us have been able to meet some of our
heroes from the show. Our Mayberry at MeadowView shows would not have
happened without him.
Behind every good man is a good woman. That couldn't be more true in this
case. Thanks also to Jim's wife Mary for all of her help throughout the run
of this great newsletter. She is a very special lady.
So, a sincere thanks to Jim and Mary for the "Bullet" and for giving us
19 great years of fun and information about Andy, Barney, Opie, Aunt Bee and
all of the folks who live in Mayberry. It is a much deserved rest.

visit .I guess inconsistencies are fun to spot .<<
I think they rigged up a hide-a-bedroom. At first they had this stage-hand
named Geboog who took the room apart piece by piece and put it back together
again when they needed it, but that caused cracks in the ceiling, leaks in
the roof, and sounds in the pipes...so they just added a Hide-a-bedroom. It
folds up into the back porch when not in use (which explains the
disappearing porch). I need one of those on my house for when company
comes...I'm getting a little too big for that ironing board between two
chairs thing.

My name is Becky Pyles. I live in Hillsboro, Kentucky, a small rural
community about 60 miles south of Lexington. I am 29 years old, have been
married for almost 9 years. My husband Danny and I have one little boy, Cody
who is 5. I work in an insurance office in Flemingsburg, Kentucky about 15
miles from Hillsboro.
We have been watching "The Andy Griffith Show" since we got married. My
parents always watched when I was still at home. I guess that's how I got
hooked. I worked at a factory for 7 years about 3 years ago, and every
morning before work, about a dozen of us would stand around and talk about
the episode of "Andy" that has aired the night before. It was a good way to
start the day. We even nicknamed some people after the show. There was one
older lady who was always baking something and bringing it to us. She was
"Aunt Bee". When any two people started dating they were automatically
"Barney & Thelma Lou".
I guess my life is not too exciting, kinda like Mayberry. But me and my
family do enjoy watching the show--especially the 24-hour marathons!!
My husband plan to go to Mt. Airy, NC sometime soon. Hopefully, this summer!

When I went to "Evening w/ Don Knotts" in Birmingham,Al , it was better than
meeting the president.
I also prefer B&W to color episodes.
I'm now in the Air Force stationed in Hill Afb, Ut.
"Had to get me uniform".
My wife , Heather, and my two sons Austin , currently 2 and Hunter currently
6 months both all love the show too.
One of my buddies returned to his home , Pilot Mountain, and I can't wait to
go there for Mayberry Days soon.
Barney and Glen Crype are my favorite characters. Glen Crype is the spitting
image of my granddaddy.
