In the first season of MRFD, Aunt Bee moved in with the Jones' because
she wanted Helen to be "the woman of the house" once she and Andy were
married. Andy was still the sheriff; other chracters refered to hm as
the sheriff and he made a few appearences as the sheriff. I remember one
instance when Andy was at church and said hey to Aunt Bee. She asked
about Helen and Opie and he said they were home sick with a cold. Later
on the show, it was told that the Taylors moved so Andy could take a job
as a postal inspector in another state. They returned in a later season
for the christening of Andy Taylor Jr. I think I got all the facts
straight here. Hope it helps!

Presumably he lived with his father and stepmother, and moved with them to
Charlotte, NC in 1969, when Andy left Mayberry to become a State Investigator.
In "Andy's Baby" ("RFD" season 2), Andy says that Opie couldn't make the trip
back to Mayberry for the baptism because he was busy with final exams.

That was Ms. Lee's second episode of "TAGS." She was also 'that college girl'
in "Andy on Trial." And she appeared in the last episode of "RFD," as a city
planner hired by Mayberry to discuss town development; a similar plot again, as
her character creates tension between Sam and Millie.

You know what makes me cry? Seeing "End of wbmutbb-digest....". First it
makes my day, then I see that phrase and I get slapped back to reality.
Guess I'll just have to go out and find me a 400 pound chicken to steal.

Harriet, now where is my jack?

While discussing Howard Morris/Your Show of Shows/Mel
Brooks/Carl Reiner, don't forget he (Morris) starred
in an episode of the Dick Van Dyke show, where he was
an art critic, who examined the Petrie's painting by
"Artanis", which is actually "Sinatra" spelled
backwards. Also enjoyed him in Mel Brooks' "High
Anxiety" as a shrink.

In the color episode where that darling Senator Canfield returns to town
and embarks on a whirlwind courtship with Aunt Bee, they are seen
dosey-doein' (don't know quite how to spell that!) on the porch of the
town auditorium on their way back into the square dance while Andy and
Helen talk about being too tired for any more hoofin'. I love that
episode.

I wrote in the other day, but got no response, so thought I'd write again.
Some folks have talked about getting tape number 11 in the Columbia House
videos. I had the 800 number for Columbia House, but have lost it.
>>>

The easiest way to order is from the web site. Just go to
www.columbiahouse.com and click "TV Greats." TAGS is listed under T (seems
to be it should be under A, or maybe G). To order by phone, call
1-800-457-0866.

There are supposed to be 20 volumes available, but so far I've only received
11 -- anybody else gotten more? I asked them to send volumes 11 - 20 all at
once but they haven't done so.

He stayed in Mayberry and became the editor of the newspaper, was married and
had at least one son and later left Mayberry to go "somewhere's else". Put
that in your snipe and poke it.

My husband was watching an episode of "Benson" the
other day when I heard a voice that sounded very
familiar. It was none other than Jack Dodson/Howard
Sprague playing a wealthy business man. Sure was good
to see old Howard, but sad to remember that he like so
many of the characters from TAGS have left us.

Subject: TAGS Characters in movies

Didn't someone recently ask about TAGS characters in movies and what
movie(s) had the most TAGS actors? I watched a little known movie called Man
Of The West. Now, besides being a TAGS fan, I'm a BIG (aw, big ain't the
word for it!) fan of Gary Cooper so just because this movie wasn't popular,
it made no never mind to me! Well, wouldn't you know it? Right there in it
was John Dehner (Colonel Harvey), Dick Elliot (Mayor Pike), Emory Parnell
(Helen's Uncle Albert), and Frank Ferguson (Mr. Foley). So that's four TAGS
people in one movie. I've seen many movies with one or two and occasionally
three, but FOUR??? We did a Six Degrees game a few years ago, but from what
I've observed -just about any actor can be linked to TAGS in no more than
two degrees, mostly one. Whadda say? Time to put your buckets on and take a
think under there!

Harriet

PS - HINT!!! Go to Allan Newsome's site, find the spreadsheet of
actors/characters names, sort it, delete the duplicates, print it and voila!
A list to reference whilst movie watching with a bowl of cashew fudge in
your lap!

ha....anyways...he had the coolest baseball jersey (the kind that the pros
wear) and it said Mayberry on the front...I had one person tell me what
company made it but had no luck....if anyone knows...let me know....BTW I
love ALL TAGS programs it takes me back to my childhood when I would spend my
summer vacations in TN with my aunt and watched them every chance I
could...now that I have moved to NJ, everyone thinks I'm retarded!...I hope
to move back to Knoxville that's close enough to Mayberry for
me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!sorry to ramble..Hollie
