sites.

Last night Nick ran the episode "Wedding Bells for Aunt Bee." I seem to
always forget what a heart warming episode this is. I love the interaction
between Andy and Opie--when Andy tickles "Deputy" Opie, stuffs him in the
waste basket, and carries him out . . .

Then at the end when Opie helps the truth come out that Aunt Bee doesn't
feel that "very special kind of love" for Fred the drycleaner . . .

I have to squeeze this episode into my personal favorites list somewhere,
and definitely add it to my "That'n makes me cry" list!

I remember seeing that one and another episode where
"Floyd" or somebody is sitting out in front of the Barber
Shop and the guy in the white coat isn't wearing glasses -
making it fairly obvious that it isn't "Floyd" (must have
been a barber replacement for Floyd's vacation?! :-)

Any other "Fake Floyd" sightings?

Yes, it's the Belamy Brothers. It's on their "Rebels Without a Clue"
album. I heard them sing the song near 'bout oh, 10-12 years ago in
Nashville when they had George Lindsey Appreciation Day. (I won third
prize in the Goober look-a-like contest. Had a beard at the time and
got to talk about the "me that is in me" anyway...)

I searched for the record for a long time and finally found it in one
of those $3.99 cassette displays at a convenience store.

Hey Everybody,

Andy was Ben Matlock, a lawyer in Atlanta on the show Matlock. He was the
main character. I do remember Don Knotts making a few appearances on that
show also. Ronnie Howard was one of the main characters on the show Happy
Days. Happy Days lasted for a good number of years. Ronnie Howards
character was named Richie Cunningham. I saw a movie of Don Knotts
called, "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" and the persons that played Clara
Edwards and Otis Campbell on TAGS were in that movie. Anyway, I hope this
little tidbit helps.

Just as a note, Weaver's has carried Mayberry 101 since the begining. There's
also loads of other books there and they've been there for a long time. The
latest are Jim Clark and Ken Beck's "Mayberry Memories" and WBMUTBB member Joey
Fann's "The Way Back to Mayberry: Lessons From a Simpler Time."

Mayberry 101 is "Temporarily Sold Out" at Weaver's because they've sold so
well, Ben ran out. He's got some more ordered.

You couldn't have Opie either, 'cause he might throw the whole box of rice
instead
of just a hand-full. You couldn't have Ernest T. 'cause he might throw - oh,
you
know what he'd throw - either a fit because HE wanted to marry the bride, or
ROCKS! You couldn't have Goober 'cause he'd wear that hat, and as much as I love
Goob, that hat does not go with a tuxedo. You couldn't have Leon 'cause he'd
bring
a pb&j sandwich with him to the altar. Howard might be a good, dignified best
man, unless he ran off to the dance club with his "Little Brother's" sister!
Maybe Gomer could sing "Santa Lucia" as the bride walks down the aisle! :)
