Boy, did I have Fun at Mayberry Days this year. Those trivia questions were rather hard. I didn't play, but I only got 6 out of 24 right. The kids contest I got 19 out of 20. I guess, I'm closer to the kids than the adults. Man was I suprised to see my picture in Jewell Kutzer's new book (Memories of Mayberry). It was taken with the WBMUTBB'S members last year after the trivia. I just had to have that book and Jewell signed it to me. The first and last time I'm sure I'll ever be in a book. Wow was Mayberry Days Fun, It was my second time attending and I had a blast, so tired I still don't know which way is up. Big Maude "alias Ralph Henderson" showed up at Col. Tims talent time, and let me tell you she was a sight to behold. Ken Junkins made the evening. Howard Sprague now has an Imposternator, Jeff Branch who is from around Tryon or Albemarle, NC area made a perfect Howard Sprague, he has a Darling boys blue grass band also. Having Howard Morris (Ernest T. Bass) and Betty Lynn (Thelma Lou) there was extra special. I believe they recieved standing ovations, and expressed their thanks for the LOVE and affection that the fans have shown them. Mr. Morris graced us with a few of his famous lines and of course a rendition of "Old Aunt Moria". Miss Lynn pleasured us with a wonderful song. And that Beautiful Preserved Maggie Peterson Mancuso gave the adoring fans her renditions of "Salty Dog" and "There is a Time" (That one made me cry) she was accompanied by Doug Dillard (Jibben Darling) on Banjo and Leroy McNees (Country Boy from Mayberry on Record episode) on the Dobro If anyone has video footage, especially digital video please contact me.
