In a recent post someone mentioned Andy calling Chattanooga to check on the background of a suspect. Something about this call has always struck me as odd and I wonder if anyone else has noticed the same thing. I live in southwestern North Carolina and am about 2 hours away (or more) from Chattanooga. I would assume that Mayberry would be much further than that from Chattanooga, maybe 5 or 6 hours and half a state away. Yet when Andy introduces himself to the sheriff in Chattanooga he simply says something like "this is Andy Taylor from over here in Mayberry" as if he were in the neighboring county or something. Looks like he would have at least said Mayberry, North Carolina. Is it just me? And another thing that's always puzzled me...How does Fred Plummer get that hat to stay on his head while he is getting pummeled by that little Japanese guy?
