Someone stumped me recently with a really tough TV trivia question...name
*all* of Andy Griffith's unsuccessfuly TV series that he starred in between
"The Andy Griffith Show" and "Matlock." Thing is, there were seven and I
could only come up with five...
The Headmaster
The New Andy Griffith Show
Adams of Eagle Lake
Salvage One
The Yeagers
...So what were the other two? Here is what I was told...learn something new
everyday!
<< 1. Abel Marsh - This was an attempt to put Andy Griffith back into the
resort-town lawman role again (a la Adams Of Eagle Lake). 2 episodes were
filmed for NBC. The project was abandoned and the shows were burned off as
TV-movies: "The Girl In The Empty Grave" (aired 9/20/77) and "The Deadly
Game" (aired 12/3/77).
2. The D.A. -Griffith portrayed New York City prosecutor Gus Brenner in a
series which was slated for ABC's 1976 season. ABC dumped the project and
the completed pilot episode was aired 9/12/76.>>
