Yes. Jack was the second actor to play Mr. Malph, an optometrist, and did so
for several episodes over the 4th, 5th and 6th seasons. BTW - the first
actor in that role was Alan Oppenheimer, who was one of the U.S. team in
"Barney Hosts a Summit Meeting."

Yes! you are soooo right. Jack did play Ralph's father and was a dentist.
I guess he left Milwaukee, dyed his hair black and decided the exciting life
of County Clerk beat the life of a "turn and spit" dentist.

Merry Christmas to everyone in Mayberry!

When Barney writes Gomer the first ticket in "Citizen's
Arrest," Gomer
mumbles something under his breath and Barney says "What
was that?" I
can't figure out what Gomer replies. It sounds like "You
just go off and
I didn't holler fish![???] I said it and I ain't taken
it back,
neither." Anybody know what he says and what it means?
-------------------------------------------------------

He says "You just go up an alley and holler fish!". Now,
as far as what that means? I haven't the slightest.

As I recall he was an eye doctor (probably an optometrist); I think he
appeared in maybe three Happy Days episodes. Ralph's parents were named
Mickey and Minnie Malph.

Hey Todd the line is "you just go up an alley and holler fish" whatever that
means. it's the closest thing to a cuss word for Gomer

I do remember him appearing, and I think he was an eye doctor, because the
Fonz needed glasses and was *very* vain about it...

Barney did a couple of jumprope parts that were hillarious! Can yall name the
episodes? Do you know the words to them? My two little daughters want me to
teach them to them.......lol.

I remember the parts to one that goes something like this "My sister your
sister lives across the way" and " pick a pack of soda crackers" or something
like that. I cant seem to recall the other jumprope song he did although I do
remember what Otis sang when barney wanted him to jump rope......"Slow it
down and let me in or I'll go out and get some GIN!!!"

Come on folks, help me out here! Thanks

Troy

With all of the talk of country music artists being Andy Griffith fans, I
couldn't help but think of one of the most obvious Andy connections. That
would be Confederate Railroad's Elvis and Andy. That is a song that praises
Andy if anything does. And I love that video!!!
