You may get more answers to this than Mark Harney, Jimbo, but since I'm
writing on another subject, I'll include it. "Boob, Who you callin' a boob?"
(Barney calls Gomer in Citz Arrest)

Good job Mary Grace Gossage and Lisa on my "rumored dead, or fooled dead"
question. You got most of them but their are still a few more. Lisa you
were real close to a couple of them. Maybe someone else will take another
shot at one not mentioned yet.

On the Doug Dillard question..it seems like the consensus answer is "Great
beans Aunt Bee" I mentioned the Mitch Jayne (not sure which Darling he was)
quote "Bout to pop" quote, so I believe both are correct, but the Doug quote
is not the "only" Darling boy quote. They have said that they weren't given
more lines because they were considered Musicians, not actors...something
about if they called them actors they would have to pay them more, and thus
they wouldn't have appeared as much. Someone else may have the exact
details on that.

Hi - I'm sure this has been mentioned a thousand times, but I have been
fascinated with just how many variations of episodes I have been seeing on
TVLand due to editing. I am usually prepared for the next lines, which often
don't come, or am unexpectedly surprised by lines and short snippets I have
never seen, esp with a few recent epilogues, such as the one for The haunted
house. Anyways, just intersting to me that at diff times diff ones show at
diff lengths with diff content. "wonder what causes that?"

Does the episode when the county nurse tries to give Rafe Hollister his
tetanus shot count, Andy sings him a song and talks to him about being a dead
hero...
Does that count?

I'm pretty sure the T in "Ernest T. Bass" stands for either Milton or Oliver.

One thing that Barney calls Gomer when he tells the story to Andy
is "Nutsy". Is that it? Don't worry; I didn't look it up. He may
call him other things but "nutsy" is definitely one of them. I've
never heard it anywhere else.

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

We love to hear the TV Land tidbits & last evening
discovered that Mrs. Mendlebright was the original "Jane"
to the original "Tarzan."

Ernest T. may not have a middle name because some in the
South only used initials. My uncle was JB. His parents had
to choose a name for the birth certificate, so they did,
but very few people knew what it was. Another theory is
that his name is ErnesT. I refer to my brother as JohnE,
since he is called Johnny & his middle initial is E. I
couldn't believe it when the first suggestion was
"Throckmorton", because Throckmorton is the last name of
our neighbor, a police officer.

Someday we will think of Mayberry names for ourselves.
Until then, we are still just "busynurses" :)

I think I just noticed a little blooper when I was watching the TAGS episode
where a gold shipment passes thru Mayberry.Andy puts Barney in charge of
watching the gold(which turns out to be sand cause the gold truck in Mayberry
is just a decoy). When Barney gets inside the truck Gomer trys to fill it up
with gas & he puts the gas nozzle in the hole in the back of the truck where
Barney is sitting.Barney's pants are soaked with gas.The strange thing that I
noticed is that when the camera takes a shot of Andy & the others outside then
goes back inside to the truck where Barney is sitting Barney's pants are dry as
a bone!My wife also noted who would have been able to smell those strong gas
fumes.Well it was a very funny scene anyway!Talk at ya later guys!Mark...

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

While watching the Christmas show last night, I
realized another several inconsistencies. The family
who Ben Weaver had Andy lock up for moonshining, had
different names than in the other episodes that they
appeared in. The father, mother, and daughter (who
was also called Mary Wiggins in another episode), were
the same as in the episode where Ben tried to evict
them, but during this episode, they had a son, older
than the little girl. I believe the father's name in
the Christmas episode was Jess, but later he was
Lester Scobee, and another name in a colorized
version. Still a great episode, but some of the
others they picked left room to be desired. TVLand
said that those 6 were voted most favorite. I can see
the Christmas Show and The Pickle Story making the
cut, but what about Mr. McBeevee, Opie the Birdman,
and the greatest of them all: Man in a Hurry? Just
thought I'd vent. Any b&w Andy is better than no Andy
at all, I guess.

If memory serves me correctly (and every once in a while it does), Barney
referred to Gomer as Ol' Nutsy. I believe the line is, "And then Ol' Nutsy here
starts hollerin', 'Citizen's arrest! Citizen's arrest!'"

That is one of my favorite episodes.

Did anyone else see the TV Land Box set this past Sunday afternoon? They
had 4 shows featuring Burt Mustin whom we all know as Jud, Old Man
Crowley or Old Geezer on TAGS. I watched the "Get Smart" episode titled
"Dear Diary." It not only had Burt Mustin on it as Agent 8 (the Chief's
best friend), but Rev. Tucker, Mrs. Lesh and Harry Bosworth (head of the
Dept. of Water and Power) were on there! It was funny seeing Rev. Tucker
play the mean double agent trying to get a secret diary. He wasn't "dry
as dust" this time! Mrs. Lesh did a mean karate chop on Max's neck. She
must have learned that from Barney's hawk or rattlesnake moves.

question concerning the "Citizens Arrest" episode Out of the 12 replies four
were right. the answer is NUTSY! Why everybody hears Boob but doesn't hear
nutsy in an interesting study. Anyway the winning answer was from Tim
Sallee. I remembered the name Sally not Sallee and was hoping it was the
Sally who was dancing with Al. To Bad. But congratulations to Tim Sallee for
