To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I offer my sincerest apologies to all TAGS fans in Milwaukee if it
appeared that I was mocking them or their skyline. Its just that if a person
had a knick-knack type of thing with a picture of a skyline on it, you would
expect it to be a world-famous skyline such as New York or San Francisco.
The fact that it was Milwaukee was just unexpected. If it had been
Louisville, KY (my hometown) I would have thought it just as funny.
I remain a loyal friend and supporter of Milwaukee TAGS fans everywhere.

Goober Takes a Car Apart has always been one of my favorite shows. Yes, of
course, I get to hear Tom Jacobs deliver his one and only line, but it was
more than that and I never really knew why until last night.
It's Floyd. He's completely off the scent about the whole thing so there is
this beautiful counterpoint. First of all Andy is mad through the entire
episode and gets madder as it goes along. Goober is sometimes exasperating,
sometime exasperating, sometimes scared and sometimes mad while Gilley
Walker hollers through the whole show. Then there is Floyd. While the
entire episode is swirling around him like a tornado..........
"I've never seen a motor running all by itself like that before."
"Oh, it was a beautiful thing to watch."
"I might just buy this car."
And I guess what makes it even better is that this was post-stroke Floyd. I
can just imagine what Howard McNear could have done with this if he had been
healthy.

Thank you to all who told me what a jack knife is. I
guess you can take the girl out of the city, but never
the city out of the girl.
Have a great Mayberry Day!!!

I've got another question that everyone but me probably knows: What is a
white elephant sale?

Hi all!
I was watching the "Grapes of Wrath" the other night and thought I spotted
Henry the Jinx. The movie was filmed in the 40's I believe and so he should
have been around 15 - 20 yrs younger than he was on TAGS. Just thought I
would see if anyone else has any thoughts on the matter.
Have a great day!

Hey Everyone! First let me say my favorite "Barney" facial expression of
all time is when he is showing the Simms Andy's house and Opie starts
telling the "truth" about their roof, etc.; Barney calmly exits with the
Simms and then just a few seconds later swings the door back open and GLARES
at Opie...I often do that to my friends when they say something I don't
like, I think that face he makes is HYSTERICAL! Also I wanted to relay
Barney's influence on my 15 year old daughter...when I ask her to help me
with something she doesn't want to do she sighs a great big sigh and says in
a voice of resignation " alright... how we gonna do it?" (you actually WANT
her to make another batch of those keresene cucumbers?)
Lastly, does anyone know the name of the actor whose only line I can recall
in the entire series is "How'd they do it Sheriff? referring to the car in
the courthouse? He's a face in the crowd very often but is an "unknown"
townsperson.... Thanks, Wisenheimer from Syracuse "Bloody Mari"

I have always enjoyed the cameo appearances of Howard Morris. He played a
TV repairman on the episode where Andy and Helen went to the lake and was
the voice of Leonard Blush on the episode where the three female convicts
were on the loose. The scene where Barney taught Ernest T. "amenities" is a
classic, especially when Barney goes outside and rings the doorbell and
Ernest T. says, "I wonder who that could be." I have also wondered why the
game warden didn't know the elected officials in the area and let them off
with a warning. But, if that had happened, we wouldn't have the
Barney-induced thoughts of Andy and Helen getting married. Just a thought
or two to stir discussion.

My brother in-law was asking me which episode Barney comes out of the
courthouse apparently just having an argument with Andy (we are not sure)
and yells out "those are your true schizophreniacs" Also noticed when Otis
is inebriated riding the cow.....goes to Mt.Pilot jail instead of the
Mayberry, because he was mad at Barn for handcuffing him...Why didn't he go
to his own home as well as other times....he is married.

I have a question for everybody. What is going on in Mayberry with the Ben
Weavers? In "Andy Forecloses", "The Christmas Story" and others with Ben
Weaver he is a crotchety old man with gray hair. However in "The Shoplifters"
he is a plump younger (younger than the original) man??? What's the deal and
where did the other Ben go to???
Calling all Trained Noticer minutemen....
"Any thoughts?"
"I think we should celebrate it"
"That's a good thought"

All of this Andy bathroom talk has me thinking about a "LUCY EPISODE" I saw the
other day.Lucy needed a extra bathroom built cause her daughter Chris was
always in the bathroom.Lucy decides to not build a whole bathroom but put a
stand-up shower in her son's closet,I thought this was a strange thing to do .I
got to thinking since it was the early 60's the censors probally would'nt allow
us to see the whole bathroom being built!Oh my how times have changed!!!Sorry
to get off the Andy subject ,but I love Lucy too!!!Mark Johnson...

Wednesday I watched an old rerun of Our Gang" on AMC and Spanky and
Alfalfa were courting a little girl whose father was the fat little
mayor of Mayberry. It's fun to watch some of the actors playing
different parts on other programs.

I was going through my AG show book and found the name of the Pensacola
FL chapter. "Jailsick Walk With Me, Jailsick Talk With Me, Jailsick Kiss
My Mouth" Could someone please give me their email address if there is
one. I hate to break the news, but the second line was "Jailsick dance
with me" not "talk"........they have done a grave disservice to
tagsrwc.....Please correct them!!Doug Baggett

I was reading in my AG show book and found out that there was two"
Mayberry Gazettes" a weekly that came out on Wed. and a regular.....That
would answer the question to those who wondered why one came in the
afternoon and why Malcolm was able to quote the temp. and wind for that
day.....The weekly probably came out in the afternoon... And don't forget
the paper "Mayberry After Midnight" Doug Baggett

Hey all!
Life has been pretty hectic lately, but I can always
count on my friends in Mayberry to help me ... slow
down... relax.... what's my hurry.....!
My husband's family comes from a small town in
Mississippi, and they still to this day only have a
weekly paper. I have also noticed Andy reading a Mt.
Airy paper from time to time on the show, so he
probably took more than one paper. Of course this did
take time away from him .....just sitting around the
house relaxing and reading the National Geographic.
......you are a bird in this world.....
