This site is easier to get to the Andy Griffith tapes.

Dan,

Paul's list is correct. Mine is the original list that I received from Columbia
House when they first
announced the last 10 tapes. They obviously made changes to some of the episodes
on a few tapes,
and I forgot to update my list. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the nice article on Ron Howard. I have previously joked about his
other famous role, wondering if, when he gets his Oscar, he'll hold it up and
sing "Blueberry Hill." BTW Ron *did* win the Director's Guild Award over
the weekend. Oddsmakers will tell you that makes him a virtual shoo-in for
the Oscar, moreso since he won the DG award before but not the Oscar. Go get
'em, Opie!

I noticed Frances Bavier as a villian on an episode of "The Lone Ranger,"
where she locked the Lone Ranger and Tonto in a shed and set it on fire.
The duo escaped through the roof and brought her to justice, all within the
requisite 30 minutes. She played the aunt of a couple of toughs, but was
really the braisn of the outfit. Quite a departure from the woman who was
scared to death of a baby (Evie Jo?) in a color episode on recently. Howard
Sprague (Jack Dodson) was in a movie once with Steve McQueen and Ali
McGraw, but got killed early in the movie.

Lots of luck to you and yours.

"Here's a topic for you romantics...What scenes include the longest most
passionate kisses?"

Now there's an unusual TAGS topic! I just happened to watch the 1st class
reunion episode last night. Andy's and Sharon DeSpain's liplock in the
moonlight would have to qualify.

Candace Howard played Martha, Aunt Bee's niece from Jacksonville. Her
baby, Evie Joy was not credited in the episode.

Got that info from Dale Robinson and Dave Fernandes book "The Definitive
Andy Griffith Reference" It's a good'un and you can get it at Weavers.

I don't know if they have sold more copies than Dr Walker's book (From
the Cradle to Junior College - 65,000 copies plus according to Aunt Bee)
but I'm sure they could stand to sell a couple more.

different episodes on each one but with the same volume name?

Some of the tapes contain different episodes than those listed on the boxes,
and some of the labels on the cassettes don't match the titles on the boxes,
either. The quality of the tapes is outstanding, but they really should get
somebody who knows more about TAGS to do the liner notes. They're full of
errors, from the misspelling of actors' and characters' names, to mistakes
like saying Gomer and Goober are brothers.

Dear Editor,
I just read info sent from eBullet on-line update. The first listing
regarded Ron Howard's new movie. You put "A Beautiful Day"......It's " A
Beauitful Mind"......You need to get someone to proof your work before
sending it out. PR wise you just made the Bullet look "inept" !!

The TAGS episode "Mind Over Matter" is a nice little color gem centering
around Goober and his psychosomatic illness. I wonder if Harlon Hill watched
this episode and what he thought about Goober not catching the football Andy
tossed him.

I was watching the episode where Ellie decides to run
for city council and had a couple of questions for all
of you.

1. I can't remember offhand how old Mayberry is,
everyone please forgive me, but please help me with
the answer?? On the very top of the Mayberry Hotel
where all the ladies were meeting, the date of 1878
was there in very large numbers. This is something I
never noticed before, even tho I've seen this episode
many, many times. (I'm trying to be a trained
noticer)

2. This episode where Ellie was running for city
council also had the longest list of characters I have
seen at the end of any TAGS. Is it the episode with
the most speaking parts, anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for you help.
