The location of Wally's on the 40 Acres Lot has always been a mystery. None
of the shots around the station ever show any familiar buildings so you can
get a fix on its location plus it does not appear on the photos of 40 Acres.

Last night in Goober's Replacement, we got several clear shots of a
chainlink fence, gate and a little booth off about 30 yards to the left of
the station. Sorta looked like one of the gates Gomer used to guard in the
Marines. Since the Gomer set was on the other side of 40 Acres from
Mayberry, could it be the station was closer to the "base" than it was the
court house?

I think the e-Bullet and its editor are, in the words of
Don Rickles character on TAGS, "ept!" Thanks, editor, for all your hard work
and dedication! Neil (Hopefully this

Again, I apologize for not being as TAGS savvy as most of you guys. Hadn't
read all the books and stuff, but hope to get started during spring break
coming up next week...HALLELUJAH!! I think I heard or read somewhere that
Aunt Bea was not only a villain in an episode of "The Lone Ranger" but that
she pretty much was a villain behind the scenes of TAGS. Is this true?

Thanks,

Does anyone know what make, model and caliber Barney's pistol was suppose to
be? I would like to find a working replica of it for my collection sometime.

Thank You!

>>> This episode where Ellie was running for city council also had the
longest list of characters I have seen at the end of any TAGS. Is it the
episode with the most speaking parts, anybody have any ideas? Thanks for you
help. Anita Carpenter<<<<

Interesting question Anita. The only source I have is a database of credits
that I got from our website. Its very handy for lots of stuff. I have it
in an Excel file, and that just about as good as them adding machines
they've got over there at Mr.. Meldrum's bank.

According to my quick scan the Episode you mention has 11 credited parts.
There are several with from 10-12 named stars. The highest I saw, if this
list is right; are Banjo Playing Deputy, (Ep 159) with 14, A Black day for
Mayberry, (Gold Truck Episode) with 15, and Episode 52, Barney and the Choir
with 16. Its not very scientific though, because often the child stars
aren't listed..and when the Darlings/Dillards appear, it just lists them as
one entry.

As to the age of Mayberry Anita, Didn't they celebrate the
Sesquicentennial? Would that be 125 years Barn?

Put that in your smipe and poke it

Howdy in Mayberry,
I wonder how many times Ernest T, Bass threw rocks and you heard the breaking
glass but never saw it hit? Put your buckets on....
best of luck to you and yours.

>>> I can't remember offhand how old Mayberry is, everyone please forgive
me, but please help me with
the answer??

This is another point where the writers were not consistent. In "The
Pageant," (broadcast in 1964) Mayberry is celebrating her centennial, but
this doesn't make sense, because we know from "Mayberry Goes Bankrupt" that
Mayberry was part of the CSA (Frank's bond was issued in 1861). Other
episodes, such as "A Plaque for Mayberry" and "The Battle of Mayberry"
firmly establish that Mayberry existed before the American Revolution.

Several years ago, this question came up in the Mayberry Days trivia
contest. I told them they should have thrown the question out, since it was
so ambiguous (they didn't listen to me -- they said the "correct" answer was
1864.)

I would say that the longest most passionate kiss on TAGS was the one Andy
gave Helen on the 'Andy's Rival' episode. Helen was arguing at a fever pitch
with Andy before he applied the lip lock. The embrace is given a comedic
touch with Goober quickly entering and exiting the scene.

Sealed with a kiss.

Allan, I want to say THANK YOU for the great work you do with the Digest,
TAGSRWC and the eBullet. Without your expertise so many people would not be
able to be "in touch" with the happenings in and around Mayberry. Your eptness
(yes, it's a word in Mayberry) is simply amazing to me. You have a beautiful
mind.

Curt

Thanks for the big news about Mayberry in the Midwest!! Finally a Griffith
event in my neck of the woods, Indiana. We have more to be excited about
now than the Mayberry Cafe in Danville, and Clay City (Which calls itself
Mayberry of the Midwest I think) .

I was in my car this afternoon listening to a Sports Talk Show
(WNDE-Indianapolis market), and this guy was reading the press release
about this event in New Castle IN.. I couldn't believe it. Of course I had
to call in. After waiting on hold about 15 minutes, I was on the air
talking live about the Griffith Show, this Indiana event and our Rerun
Watchers Club!!! I told them I knew the Barney and Floyd impersonators
personally.
The guy asked me if the Barney impersonator was from Minnesota, and of
course I told him our own David Browning was from Virginia. I told him
there may be others, but he was the best. I also told them a little about
our Floyd, Allan Newsome, the internet sleuth from Alabama. We talked about
the stars who are to appear as well. (anybody out there hear me?)

The show host (Mark Patrick) said I sounded like a real fan, and wanted to
ask me a question. I thought it might be real tough, and I would be
embarrassed. He said he had just seen a rare color episode on TVland and
Howard played another role. Immediately I knew it was Ed, the Insurance
man. He was so confused he asked how Howard, after being in the black and
white episodes, could come back in another role. I explained that Jack
Dodson's Ed role, was before he was Howard...and of course Howard appeared
only in color. The radio show's producer, I think, is a big Grifffith fan
( I've heard them discussing the show before) so I am going to Email him
with our Website.

Just another day in the life of...

Wow...thanks Carolyn! Those are kind words and I'm thankful for them.

I do want to set the record straight though on one point concerning The
eBullet. I don't do much other than get the "Archive" version ready and mail
out The eBullet. TAGSRWC Presiding Goober Jim Clark is still THE MAN when it
comes to writing The eBullet and keeping us informed of things going on in
and around Mayberry. Jim's "ept" and has been for years...he has a
"beautiful mind" any "day" of the week. ha ha....
