OK, raise your hand if you are capable of the following:

Upon hearing the phrase "leg of lamb," can you refrain from saying "Andy's
favorite dish" even when nobody around has the slightest idea what you're
talking about?

If you can, you're a better man than I, Gunga Din. (That's from the movie,
not from TAGS).

Well folks I finally have a minute to tell you some BIG
news, and when I say BIG I mean BIG BIG, the Biggest news to ever
hit Mayberry.

A friend of mine from Mayberry Days Steve Meyers called me the other
Sunday and told me he was visiting a close friend in Manteo, NC just
before Christmas on a Sunday morning and saw a vehicle coming out of
Andy Griffiths drive way, crossing in front of him, and as he looked
he saw Andy driving with wife Cindy riding shotgun, and after thinking about
it for a few seconds he turned around and followed at a considerable
distance, and they parked near a little church and got out and as they
crossed the street, Steve was nearing them and stopped,
rolled down his window and said "Hey Andy", and to his surprise Andy said
Hey to him, he then said "Andy check out the tag on the front of my truck"
and Andy asked his wife "what'd he say" she said "he said
look at the tag on the front of the truck" so Andy stepped back and
looked at the tag that said "Mayberry" Andy asked where he got it and he
said Mt. Airy, and that he had talked to Emmett Forrest, Andy said
"I need to call Emmett,I haven't talked to him in a while"
Steve then bid them fairwell and Andy wished him a good day also.

But that ain't the best part folks,
On the Sunday that he called me (April 7, 2002), he had been visiting his
friends in Manteo again, and just happened to ride down the street where he
had met Andy (just for sentimental reasons, and to ponder his meeting) when
lo and behold there was Andy and Cindy walking down the street to their car
and he stopped again and said Hey Andy, Andy again said Hey to Steve and
remembered him and his tag on the front of his truck,
Steve told Andy he had a Meyers Lake tag and showed it to Andy.
Andy thought it was really nice, so Steve told him he could have it,
Andy was pleased with the gesture and thanked Steve. Steve then asked if
they would sign his Mayberry Memories book, Andy said that they Don't
ever sign anything, but that he would sign his book, and his wife said
it depended on the the picture of them he wanted signed (women want to make
sure it's a good picture of them) So they both signed his book and bid him
fairwell. So now Steve 's life is complete.

He had not one, but two very nice encounters with our favorite Sheriff.

Phil

A couple of days ago Lisa posted:

<<I don't know how many of our members watch the show Trading Spaces on The
Learning Channel, but it is a favorite of my brother's and mine. The other
night, he found a picture of one of the designers with an Andy and Barney tie
on. We also both love Mayberry, so he emailed the picture to me. I think it
was on the TLC website. Andy and Barney are everywhere!!! :) >>

I don't post that often but had to this time. The designer you are speaking
of is a good friend of mine, and I gave him that tie a few years ago. He
actually wore it on camera on a show he used to do for the former The
Nashville Network. He is a huge TAGS fan.

I didn't post about this, but last year I stayed at Andy's House in Mt. Airy
and would recommend it to any fan!

I saw our own Mayor Stoner in a movie last night. It
was a Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) movie. Paul Hogan
played the part of an angel. Didn't catch the title,
but knew our Mayor Stoner instantly!

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to know if anybody had noticed something in a couple of
episodes.
The first one is the one with Jess Morgan and the new Mayor. At one point in
the show Barney is holding a newspaper in front of his face. When you first
see the scene the paper isn't torn, but when you see it a few seconds later it
is. They probably tore it a little so that when Barney ripped the paper it
would rip cleanly. Another one is the Gold Truck episode. Remember the two
men that come in to see Andy when the show first starts. One of those men
being Rance Howard. Well in one scene their hats are already off and a couple
of seconds later they are back on again. And this one I would like to have
some help with. When Opie comes in the two men are sitting there but one of
the men looks different than the other scene. It doesn't look like Rance
Howard. And even though it's in black and white you can tell that the suit is
a different color. Anyway--didn't mean to be so long. Just wanted to see if
anyone out there has noticed this.

My dad was discovered to have an aortal aneurysm on Saturday. It was
about to rupture and he would have died if it did. He had to have
emergency surgery and is currently in ICU. He is still in a lot of
danger and prayers will be greatly appreciated. My cell phone has three
recordable ringers on it. On the first one, I have recorded the TAGS
theme "The Fishin' Hole" and on the second one, the Mayberry RFD theme.
I have the ringer set to use the TAGS theme except on calls from
immediate family. Today, I was at the hospital and the phone rang
playing the TAGS theme. Another lady who was in the waiting room with me
heard it and she looked at me. I told her it was my cell phone and she
said, "Oh, I thought you had just turned on the TV." I explained that I
love TAGS, so I had recorded the theme song on my phone. I thought that
was a nice Mayberry moment in the middle of chaos. Mary Grace Gossage"It's
