"Maybe I'm makin a big moulauge out of this but,
if you look on the map of NC, Bannertown is 5-10 miles north east of MT.
Airy!!!"

Hi Michael, yes Bannertown has a great restaurant, "The Derby" that was a well
known drive-in in the 40's and 50's. They still have great burgers! Another
"local" reference is in the episode with Jerry VanDyke when he and Andy walk
out of the courthouse and Andy tells him to go to "Haymore and Rockford" for
the school crossing. This intersection in Mt Airy is just a few hundred feet
from Andy's boyhood home.

Hey, Jeff,

I guess I missed something, what's this about Andy Griffith getting
a road named after him? Please help,

Jason Donner

Hey everybody,

I hope a lot of you will be at Maybery in the Midwest
in New Castle, IN on July 20. I am going to be going
alone, so I hope to meet up with a lot of you. My
family is having to bow out because of my Mom's
health, but my husband (sweetie that he is) want's me
to go ahead and go.

I have been to Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, and it was
just so nice to sit down next to anyone there and
begin talking about our favorite character, episode
etc. I will be looking for our own "Floyd" so maybe
some of us will run up on each other.

........everybody on the truck........

I hope you're all having fun with my "hat" quiz. In case you missed it, the
idea is to try to name every type of headgear Andy Taylor is seen wearing on
TAGS.

Here's what we've come up with so far:

1. Uniform cap in "Andy's English Valet"
2. Old-fashioned nightcap in "A Feud is a Feud"
3. Umpire's cap in "The Ball Game"
4. Barney's motorcycle helmet in "Barney's Sidecar"
5. Silly fishing hat in "The Inspector"
6. Fez in "The Lodge"
7. Straw boater in "The Barber Shop Quartet"
8. Band uniform hat in "The Mayberry Band"
9. Indian headdress in "The Clubmen"

Someone mentioned a weather-repellant hat in "Quiet Sam," but I don't think
that counts, since it would have just been his regular uniform hat with a
cover on it.

There are still a few left, so keep those thinking buckets on! (No, that's
not one of the answers).
