Actually, Howard played Doc on the radio version of "Gunsmoke." Chester on
that version was played by none other than Parley Baer, a/k/a Mayor Stoner.

As a big fan of the GUNSMOKE Old Time Radio Shows, I had to respond to this.
That's not Howard McNear playing Chester, but it is Parley Baer (Mayor
Stoner). Howard McNear played "Doc" on GUNSMOKE.

That's great news, Jeff! We get our paper eight days late by mail so we'll
be looking forward to this one. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the answers to my question about Toilet Water. I
particularly enjoyed Paul's quote from George Lindsey. Also good catch
about Aunt Bee using the term as well.
I guess we never closed the related question about bathroom facilities in
the courthouse. I remember an old courthouse that had restrooms on the
outside on the building in the back. If we use our imagination, we could
assume that the Mayberry Courthouse had outside entrance restrooms. One
could further speculate that this is why the key was left so close to the
cells, because Andy or Barney would have to escort the prisoner to use the
facilities..and of course Otis could just let himself in and out as needed.
"Ya see that door Karen, That the door I go out to empty the trash can, and
where Pa takes the prisoners out to use the bathroom" (I know, its far
fetched)
I agree with the Evie Joy guessers, but if it's not that one, perhaps it's
the color episode, "Opie's First Love" starring Joy Ellison (aka Iris, Mary
Wigggins, Mary Scobie etc.)
My sweetheart got me a couple nice tapes from Weaver's for my Birthday. I
hinted pretty heavily about them, like Aunt Bee and that Bed Jacket, but I
still could have ended up with canning jars,,instead I've got that special
joy. Ole Ben's got some good stuff.
For all of us Hoosier TAGS fans, this is a special time of year because we
know Gomer is coming. No, the marines haven't been called in, but Jim
Nabors sings our state song at the beginning of the Indianapolis 500 (on
Sunday). Jim has been known also to drop by the Mayberry Cafi in Danville.
Welcome Welcome Welcome Jim, the best to you and yours..Hey to Goober.

Hi All,
This just come to me. I was and still am watching TAGS episode "Opie's
Fortune", where he finds the change purse with $50.00 in it. In the scene
where they count down the time until Opie gets to keep the $50, Barney reads
the paper and discovers the lost and found ad for the money. I heard him say
a lost change purse lost on the outskirts of Mayberry if found call Parnell
Rigsby R.F.D Bannertown!!!! Maybe I'm makin a big moulauge out of this but,
if you look on the map of NC, Bannertown is 5-10 miles north east of MT.
Airy!!! I think that is one of the closest references I have ever heard!
Maybe it just excites me but I thought that was really something!
God Bless
Michael

In the summer of 1986, I purchased a 'Pink Floyd' T-shirt advertised in the
'Rolling Stone' magazine classifieds. It was a black print of Floyd Lawson
emblazoned on a hot pink T-shirt. I wish I still had it. The 'Pink Floyd Deep
Purple' T-shirt is available at Weaver's. I have the earlier version of this
one.
Interestingly, Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' LP, which was released in 1979, has a
song on it entitled 'In the Flesh?' As Roger Waters sings, you can hear a few
minutes of excerpt from an episode of 'Gomer Pyle USMC' in the background.

I just caught on to what your talking about. A search of Techtv.com should
help. I saw more than one segment of their programming
I don't Have cell phone so I didn't pay much attention.
As I understand it. It all to do with the type of cell phone
you own. Lots of sites have selective rings using midi versions
of songs these midis you can import yourself also most selectictive
cell phone ringers were on those made from Sony I believe.
Sorry this is not much help Paul deserves a little help after all he has
given .

That's the one. Good job to Lisa Jackson and Gloria Bruce.
Now since I can't locate that episode in my library for some reason, can
someone confirm how many times Aunt Bee said "Andy" when she thought the
baby was in distress. I think it was 5, but it might have been six.
