In reference to the BW eps. I remember Gunsmoke started in BW. I
don't think any of those episodes are available for TV at all. My
   Three Sons,
Leave it to Beaver, ( Beaver never went to colour) also started in
BW. Donna Reed and Father Knows Best are two more.
The early My Three Sons were almost film noir at times
I agree with what you are sayin Charlie Varney!!
   Later Laverne

Hi everyone,

It seems to me that Gomer Pyle was shot in b&w its first year and then after
that in color.

Are there any more?

Hey Everybody,

If I am not mistaken, I think the Beverly Hillbillies started out black
and white and then went to color also. What about Gunsmoke? Anyway, it
was good to stop by Mayberry for a brief moment.

Hi all,
I don't mean to be obtuse, but wasn't it inhaling in front of an electric
fence that Floyd said would cure the hickups?

God Bless

I notice where someone asked if there were other instances of and I tell you
it really made me think. As a matter of fact, and this is no joke, yesterday
when I was taking my daughter to the dentist, imagine my surprise to see the
name Floyd Lawson on the sign in sheet! I just kept staring and grinning like
the cat that swallowed the canary. I just couldn't believe this! Imagine how
big of a TAGS fan you would have to be to name your child Floyd Lawson! I
could almost imagine Floyd sitting in the dentist's chair saying "The last
time I was here that drill made a noise like a crying child. Just like a
crying child" I thought Allan would particulary appreciate the humor of
this!

Didn't Calvin Coolidge say that?

"----------------------------------------------------------------------Actually,
I have. My cousin's name is Vickie Harms. Harms is her married name.
As far as I know, she never bit off the end of anyone's raspberry snow
cone, sipped out all the syrup, and handed him back the ice, but maybe
she did and I don't know about it. Don't tell Barney she is my cousin.
After all, he would probably try to find out where she lives so that he
could go to her house with his snow cone and bite off the end, sip out
the syrup and hand her the ice. That is, if she would open the
door.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Mary

Hey Charlie,
You expressed my sentiments well. Mayberry and the family
programs of the era take us back to the kinder, gentler days
of the pre-70's. It isn't the coloring of the film that is a problem,
(I happen to like all the Mayberry programs) but the coincidental
events and cultural changes which occurred simultaneously.

"I wonder what causes that?..."
My best to you and yours!

I have a question who drew the drawings (paintings) at the beginning and
ending of each episode?
These are the little rural scenes, then later on they were scenes of the
town.

Subject: Aunt BeE's autograph
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I found an absolute TREASURE (as Big Maude would say) while attending the
Toy Show in Knoxville on June 1. I bought an 8 x 10 of the familiar
color picture of Andy, Aunt Bee and Opie sitting at the kitchen table
eating breakfast where Aunt Bee is putting a newspaper in Andy's face
while Opie looks on. It was autographed by Andy, Aunt Bee AND Opie! I
compared Andy's autograph to ones I've seen before and it looks
legitimate. His was signed "Andy Griffith A.K.A. Sheriff Taylor". Aunt
Bee signed hers "Francis Bavier Aunt Bea Andy Griffith Show". Opie
signed his "Ron Howard Opie". I paid only $100 for it. I thought that
was a steal since I've seen any one of their autographs go for almost
that much. Then I found another cast photo from "Mayberry, RFD" signed
by Arlene Golonka, Ken Berry, Buddy Foster and Jack Dodson (the really
hard one to get). They wanted just $50 for it. Does anyone else have
autographs of Andy, Aunt Bee and Opie on the same photo?

I got 4 dvds with 4 episodes each at Walmart for 12.98.
They have scenes I've never seen before.
What a buy?

It wasn't "hollering" into an electric fan - it was inhaling in front of an
electric fan.
