Just when you think you've had a bad string of luck,
something great comes along. Now that TAGS on TVLand
is airing the episodes I take a break from watching
(160-249), SciFi channel is airing 2-Twilight Zones
from 6-7PM (CST)! Also, Mystery Channel is airing
Night Gallery from 4-5PM, though I miss the first
half hour cause of work.
Anyway, was watching the excellent TZ about the
hideous masks that turn the wearer's faces into
impressions of the mask. I noticed a TAGS character
actor, portraying the dying man's doctor. On TAGS he
was O'Malley, who went to Dee-Troit on a bus. He was
also the gentleman who brought the boys bows and
arrows, in the episode where Barney showed them the
joy of "developing the pioneering moxy", as well as
several other characters. I catch him in a lot of
60's era tv shows and movies. Who was he? Curious,
just curious......

Just don't do what I done.....I drove through Mt. Airy
on my way to see family in PA one summer. I took a
great load of pictures, or so I thought. I didn't have
any film in my camera!! I also stayed there overnight,
at the comfort Inn. That was the only crime I saw
there...$80.00 for a room! And Andy complained about
$7 in Raleigh!

Got a couple of trained noticer comments here.
In the County Nurse episode, while Rafe is contemplating his shot, and
finally deciding to accept it, he says something like "My Daddy lived to be
a hundred years old, and I don't intend to break the tradition" Now if
Rafe's Daddy's life was in the past...and he was over a hunderd when he died
...then Rafe ought to be about 60 to 80 years old, don't cha think? But he
didn't look s day over 40...especially when he shaved and put on that suit
to sing.
In the episode where Opie enters the 50 yard dash: When Barney is jumping
rope and singing, he is right in front of Opie's (Andy's) house. The camera
angle changes when the guy in the truck makes the comment about coming over
to play jacks (as Barney is still jumping rope) ...you can see stores behind
him. Puzzling huh? Andy livin' right downtown.
That is sad, about they way they wrote out Thelma Lou. The tears on my
pillow bespeak the pain that is in my heart. Gerald Whitfield did not
deserve her. Barney should have "wrecked" his crew and took his girl
back...but then what about Harry Becktoris, would he have gone for Thel
instead of Ramona?? I know what Barney should done about "her". He should
have sent for her, from Raleigh, just like Andy was going to do Helen, from
South America...and she didn't speak a word of South American!
Well I'm getting off the path here...just wishin I was in Pigeon Forge this
weekend.
Have a great time all....The rest of us will just being sittin at our
homes...eatin a pan of cashew fudge and watchin....TAGS reruns!!! Life
ain't all bad.
Indiana folks ..Don't miss the "Stars and Fife Forever" six hour Marathon on
UPN 23 Jul 4th!!

Hey all,
Just wanted to say hey! We got back from Mississippi
this afternoon, and really enjoyed some of the laid
back ways of the south. I was just about to have a
spell and have to take to my sickbed like poor old
Emma while I was there. I was unable to watch TAGS
for 13 days. I was afraid I was going to have to call
Walker's for a miracle drug to help me, and let Aunt
Bee and all the fine ladies of Mayberry send me some
food to see me through my illness!! Just in the nick
of time, on our last day there I found TAGS on one of
their stations. Boy was I happy to see that!
Been catching up on my digest's and really enjoying
them.
........Oh Paw, can't I look at the pretty man........

I was watching a rerun of "My Three Sons" when who
just happened to show up as Steve Douglas'
secretary??? Our own Betty Lynn. I was thrilled as
I've never seen it mentioned in the digest that she
was seen on that show. Has anyone seen this episode?
It's the one where the office throws Steve a "baby
shower" when they hear about Robby and Katie expecting
a baby.

someone else wears my hat..............

Mike,
Let me tell you - for the past 3 years my wife and I have traveled
to the Biltmore, then to Mt. Airy for Mayberry Days in September.
It is a very fun time for us and I guess we'll keep doing it
forever. We actually got engaged at the Biltmore on our second
trip. Anyway, enough mushy stuff...
The Biltmore is an amazing house, your first time it is enough to
just go on the main house tour, take your time and rent a tape
player to tell you all the details. You'll love the billiard room,
the swimming pool and the view from the back of the house. Such
spending on every detail. Amazing technology for the day.
Also, check out the winery and take the chance to sample from
they're vineyard. It will be a memorable day for you and the
wife/girlfriend. Then Mt. Airy. Even better.
Do it all. Check out the Snappy Lunch, Wally's garage, Andy's old
homeplace, replica of the jail, the giftshops. A sweet little
town. But you really need to go during September's Mayberry Days.
When the folks and events are in town. A fun time but not to big
to be too much. Just right. Best point to see in Mt. Airy is the
visitors center, when an astounding collection of Andy memorabelia.
And its free! Have fun.
Jason Donner
