How come Andy arrested, and put in jail, Jim Lindsey for disturbing the
peace? I don't know
much about the law, but disturbing the peace would usually get you a
warning first and then
only a ticket/fine. Was the law different then?

My favorite of Andy's girlfriends was Ellie Mae. I
think her class and sophistication was a wonderful
contrast to the exagerrated accents and "countryness"
of the early episodes. I wish she'd been on longer.
By the way, does the show ever tell us what happened
to her, or was she just another victum of the
"Unexplained Disapperance" that happened to so many of
the Mayberry folk.
You know what I mean, those characters who were
semi-regulars on the show for a while, and then were
nowhere to be found and no reason was given for their
leaving. Some of the most notable are Johnny Paul,
Warren Ferguson, Mayor Pike, Mayor Stoner, Peggy, AND
the biggest "Disapperance Without an Explanation" --
Barney Fife! His reason for leaving wasn't explaned
until he made his first guest appearance later in the
5th season.

today I saw an episode of Dennis the Menace and there
was a character named Opie. He was the guy who played
Emmets brother (the insurance salesman) one time. I
thought it was cool that his name was Opie. I believe
the episode's credits (in roman numerals of course)
said it was filmed in 1959, so that was before TAGS.
What a coincidence.

I know I have said this before, but my favorite of Andy's love interest
would have to be Charlene Darling! I know that he always acted like he would
never consider that, but my wife and I both feel the shot of him watching
Charlene sing There Is A Time reveals his true heart. In the shot we see
Andy looking at Charlene in a way we never see him look at any of his other
love interests.
"You both love music, Opie could use a mother ..."
