Hello everyone! We are just a few days from the "Mayberry in the Midwest"
weekend. I did want to give you a little bit of added information. For those
of you who will be in New Castle early on Friday I wanted to let know that a
few of the Mayberry stars will be signing at 3 different historic sites in New
Castle from 1:30-2:30pm. Ther will be at least one star at each site. The
three sites are: The Henry County Arts Park, The Indiana Basketball Hall of
Fame and The Wilbur Wright Birthplace Museum. Directions to these sites can
be found at your hotel. We do not know which star will be at each site.
You'll just have to choose a site and be surprised! Also don't forget to
check out our website www.mayberryinthemidwest.com for a variety of
information on the event. Looking forward to seeing you all in a few days!

Maybe the houses had two doors to allow for a casket to be brought into the
house. My mom is from rural alabama and when folks died, the casket went to
the family's house and a person "sat up" with it until the deceased was
buried.

Thanks for the tip, Pam, but if bought one of those contraptions - I'm
afraid it might be as awful as that rug Mr. Schwump wears OR..... Billy
Graham might come to town and preach about "being yourself" along with "sin"
and I would just feel so "no good".

Howdy from South Texas!,
i remember hearing about Thelma Lou's famous cashew
fudge and was wondering if anyone would happen to have
a recipe for it? Would love to try it out as I'm a
hopeless chocoholic! Help!

Last night (or very early this morning) I saw Howard Sprague on AMC channel in a
movie with Sally Struthers (Gloria). I don't know the name of the movie, and I
didn't finish watching it, but it seemed that they were related, or married.
There was a man with a gun telling Howard to get the car and bring it around.
Does anyone know what movie this was? Have a Mayberry day... Lisa

First, let me say how much I enjoy my morning wake up
to the TAGS newsletter. It's refreshing, along with my
coffee. The current stories about spending a day in
our hometown bring both smiles and nearly make me cry.

Also, there was our beloved Maudie on Jeannie this
morning. Maudie had taken one of Jeannie's PIP-CHICKS.
PIP-CHICKS make you fall in love with the first person
you see. She said she wanted to be dominated by Major
Nelson, she always wanted to be dominated. What a
switch from her role in TAGS dominating Barn & Al.

I guess she just wanted to be 'sporaneous'.

p.s. TWO ENTRANCE HOUSES: My brother & his wife bought
an old country doctors house, in Roachdale, IN (built
1875). It has four-course thick brick walls and an
inside doorway that opens to a wall. Handcarved
woodwork imported from France.

It has a wrap around wooden porch and a door on either
side of the house. The house is symmetrical, so both
rooms the doors open into are identical. It is
conjectured the doctor had patients enter from one
side of the house. And maybe leave on the other side?

I forgot this; I hope the TAGS members keep us posted
about Andy being at the renaming of US-52. US-52 runs
from the Atlantic to Canada in Minnesota. Right
through my hometown Indianapolis (as Lafayette Rd.).

Not to make a big moulage, but I hope I can be there.

Hey now! Some of you are waxing poetic on your descriptions of a day in
Mayberry. Why not make a poem out if it and send it in to the The Mayberry Poem
- A Tribute to Mayberry? Some of your storied would make mighty fine poetry! If
you feel so inclined, email your verse to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or post it at:
http://pub78.ezboard.com/fmayberryusafrm34
Thanks!

For my day in Mayberry, I think I'll sweep some litter in the street in front
of the market, to see if I can upset Barney. He's already warned me once, you
know! "Judo?-----I'll Judo him!!!"

Hey folks,

I've only been aware of the TAGS website and WBMUTBB since the end of May.
After clicking the links to the "Mayberry in the Midwest" schedule, thinking
I was in store for a wonderful experience just two hours from where I live,
I was horrified to see that both evening events were sold out! Even though
I'm not a bird, I'm whistlin' my own "I'm feelin' sad" song. I'm still going
just for the autograph session on Saturday morning. I wouldn't miss the
chance to meet my Mayberry heroes in person for anything. Mr. Newsome, are
you going to be at the autograph session? I'd love to see you as Floyd, and
thank you in person for the great service you provide to all Mayberrians.
Then I'll whistle, "I'm feelin' glad!"
WAIT! "HERE COMES THE CAT!. . . "

Rich (blessed with two Opies)in Indiana

<No use getting all worked up during my day in Mayberry, so I think I'll
just sit on the bench in
front of the barbershop, whittle a bit and listen to
Mr. Schwump.>

Hey Dan-
I don't think there would be much to listen to do you?
Just kiddin - Mr. Schwump is not much of a talker but
he cuts a pretty mean rug.

Charlie Varney made me wonder what would happen
if Otis and Ernest T. ever got together? That could be a dangerous situation
especially if Otis still had his car and he let Ernest T. drive it - AND the
Fun Girls decided to
come to town. Yikes!!!
