Hey everybody, watched the episode where Barney gives the Governor a parking
ticket yesterday and was wondering why the driver didn't get the ticket
instead of the governor. I know if I drive someone else's car and get a
ticket, I would get the ticket and not the owner of the car. Any thoughts on
the matter? Talk with ya'll later, Horatio "Kevin"

Hey everyone! I just wanted to tell y'all about a great experience I had a
couple of weekends ago.

I had the pleasure of meeting David Browning, MD (Mayberry Deputy)! As most
everyone here knows, Mr. Browning is a premiere Barney Fife "Tribute Artist."
He was at a grand opening in Wilmington, NC while I was over there visiting
family. It was a real thrill to meet him and to quote Floyd, "What a nice
man!" He was kind enough to sign personalized autographs for my dad, brother,
and me even though he had a throng of folks waiting for a basic autograph and
he even chatted for a moment about our mutual admiration for Allan Newsome
after I told him I was a member of the WBMUTBB Chapter.

I urge everyone to try to see Mr. Browning any chance they get. You will be
pleased you did!

Hey everyone!

When some members mentioned the fact that Andy seemed a little grouchy in
some of the color episodes, it reminded me of something I had noticed several
times. I have noticed that Andy seems to have a cold in some of the color
episodes. He is sniffing and just sounds congested. And he "talks through his
nose". Of course he may have gotten that from Ernest T.

Have a nice Labor Day all!

Hey Everybody,

According to my recollection (which is not really good at times), I
thought in Return to Mayberry that Andy and Helen lived in Cincinnati,
Ohio. I am so glad though, that Andy did Return to Mayberry and became
the Sheriff again with Reliable Newlywed Barney Fife as his deputy. I
just love happy endings.

I'm a little behind in reading TAGS, so I'm writing
about the Aug. 25 notes. I've weighed in on this
before but TAGS missed a brilliant opportunity to deal
with alcoholism in the way only TAGS could.

Also, when Howard McNear died there could've been a
funeral for Floyd, in the way only TAGS could've
presented it.

Lastly, in last nights episode on UPN, the owl is an
omen and the counter omen owl flies without moving
it's wings. I believe this episode was filmed entirely
outdoors. Any noticers agree?

And at the end Charlene drives the truck as Andy & Bee
wave goodbye.

Hi Aunt Bee, I'm not sure what
brand you are referring to, but here in
                      Indiana
in the 60's, there was a brand
called Nehi. They had grape, orange,
                      raspberry,
                      and several other flavors that
don't come to mind right now. I don't
                      believe
they had cola though. I do also
remember Double Cola, because they had
                      contests where there was a
"foil" coin in the caps of some bottles
                      which you
                      could redeem for cash. John

My dad owned a small grocery store from 1950 to 1977
in Indianapolis, not unlike Mayberry's store, we took
orders over the phone and generally knew what our
customers (friends) wanted and delivered on credit.

We sold Nehi beverages, in all their flavors,
including my absolute favorite, Cream Soda. Nehi made
RC 'coke- cola' under license from RC. The only
difference between Indiana and say Alabama was the
Moon Pie! Our soda machine was the type from Wally's
without a coin slot. You just paid the clerk.

I've noticed in some of the color episodes, when Aunt Bee is driving her
convertible that she reaches to the left of the steering column to start the
car. I've asked my husband why the ignition would be on that side and he
didn't know. Does anyone in Mayberry know? Thanks ever so much.

To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

NEWS FROM TAGSRWC HQ!!!!!!

I just received the official word that Harvey Bullock is coming to Mayberry
Days! I'm always careful not to overuse our favorite catch phrase, but this
is one time when it certainly applies...It's Big!!!

Harvey will be at Mayberry Days for the whole weekend, but the centerpiece of
his visit will be serving as very special guest for Neal Brower's lecture on
Saturday afternoon. This will surely be a "don't-miss" portion of the entire
weekend.

With Doug Dillard, Maggie Mancuso, Betty Lynn, Howard Morris, James Best, and
George Spence rounding out this year's festival, it promises to be the best
Mayberry Days yet.
--jim

P.S. And that Private Dinner for Two with the Mayberry Days Stars at Andy's
Childhood Home/Autographed Squad Car Cookie Jar, for which the Surry Arts
Council is selling raffle tickets, just got that much more enticing. Tickets
are available online at our mayberry.com site (http://mayberry.com) or by
phone through Sept. 15 or in person in Mount Airy until the time of the
drawing on Sept. 28. Folks who can't attend Mayberry Days can still win the
signed cookie jar. And our support of the Raffle helps make Mayberry Days
stronger.

Warren is certainly no Barney, but he is kind of funny. As soon as I
stopped comparing him to Barney and got over the fact that he replaced
Barney, I started to really appreciate him. Now I look forward to the
episodes he is in. I have seen every episode at least twice, but I tend
to skip a lot of the color episodes. However, I do enjoy the ones with
Warren. He is so goofy in a nice-sort-of-hoping-you'll-understand-way.
My husband and I even do a fairly good imitation of him and Andy. Warren
saying "huh" and Andy saying "yeah". It is all in the timing. Of
course, everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. Barney was such a
hard act to follow and he was so well loved, that Warren just didn't
stand a chance of meeting up to those kind of expectations. Mary Grace

>>>#2 There is an episode where Andy is painting, but I can't recall which
right now.

Boy, the first time I read this and then seeing the response to it about
Andy doing this during "The Rivals" episode really had me going.
I was scratching my head trying to remember if I had ever seen Andy doing
any painting. (in my head I was seeing Andy "painting a picture" kinda
painting.)
Boy I had a good laugh when I went back to watch this episode and realized
that they weren't talkn' about that kind of painting at all.
