Just so you'll know we're training our grandson right, we are right in the
middle of demolishing our kitchen for a remodel. The missing kitchen is
puzzling to the 2 year old. He started it by telling us in one of his 2
word sentences, "Kitchen gone!" We have now taught him the following
dialog:
"Patrick, where's the kitchen?"
"Kitchen gone!"
"How we gonna fix it?"
"CALL MAN!"

You know, Calvin Coolidge didn't say much because he was just a small
fellow. You know slender, high spirited folks need a sugar pick-me-up in
the middle of the day. I bet that if ol' Cal had a Mr. Cookie Bar, he
probably would have said more.

I once heard that at one point she was insisting people call her "Aunt Bee"
and even wore her hair in a bun like Aunt Bee did. Moving to a small town
(in North Carolina, no doub) could be part of that.

I don't have "Goober and the art of love" unedited, but I just got a DVD
for a gift, and I already had it, so I'm selling it real cheap if anyone
wants it.
It has 10 unedited episodes and is brand new.

Her neighbors told me that some of Frances' friends
bought her the house in Siler City, "a sight unseen"
as they described it.

Being from Canada and having no accent (eh!) I can always tell when I talk
to people from the States approximately where they are from. I have a
girlfriend from here that married a man from North Carolina and within two
years she has picked up the accent. There are such slight differences in
how people pronounce things but it's really the rhythm of the speech pattern
that gives it away.
I'd like to sign up the reality Mayberry show. and I'm with Mickey McLean,
hopefully they hightail it out and let us all stay.

Subject: Hello friends
I joined this group about a month ago and have been thoroughly enjoying
reading your messages and getting acquainted with you. This is my first time
to speak up, so I'm a little nervous.
I absolutely love The Andy Griffith Show and I can see that I am in good
company. I'm 49 years old (young?), so that makes me just a smidge older than
Opie.
I grew up in a small town in Missouri where you knew, or at least knew of
almost everybody. You went to the same school, church, grocery store, diner.
Aunt Bea was the spitting image of my grandmother.
I don't get to watch the show very often myself. I don't have cable and it is
on our local station weekdays at 10:30 AM while I am at work. It is also on
Sundays at 1:00 on the same station, but for the past month they have been
showing infomercials instead of regular programming at that time. I do,
however, have a tape with about 10 shows on it that a friend made for me.
I'll have it worn out before too long. I have gone to the web site and
clicked on "themes and wallpapers" from the list. So, I've always got my
friends right in front of me.
My mom said watching the show sometimes makes her cry a little because it
reminds her how sweet life can be. I know what she means. But mostly it just
makes me feel great and I love watching it any chance I get.
Your friend,
Mona
(I have 2 daughters, 5 sons, 2 granddaughters, and 1 one grandson. And he
looks just like Opie.)

I have a copy of the Will of Frances Bavier, aka Aunt Bee....It is rather
interesting.....She gave away more than she had, I believe, but she was very
generous to the area Police and Fire Departments etc.....I don't know how
popular this item is, but has anyone else seen it?
Brad "Neil Bentley" Cunningham
Hi Brad
Yes i have a copy of the will & also a copy of the death certificate. I went
to Siler City a few years back to visit the grave & met Aunt Bee's neighbors.
I still keep in touch with them. I also met the local sheriff. Lots of great
stories and pictures.
