We will be heading to Mt Airy in about 30 minutes, and it is raining. Eveyone
else who travels in the rain please be careful...we need everyone!
If there are any attendees who haven't heard, I will be toting a box around
to take a donation so we can place a seat in the playhouse in memory of
Melvin Slaydon, Master Fiddler. I will be easy to spot, as there won't be too
many people around carrying a silver colored box with a slot in the top! I
will also be easy to see as I stand 6-5 and top the scales at 265, so can't
nairy one say they can't see me!!
Y'all travel safe and drop a buck in the box in memory of Melvin!!

Hmmm, maybe since there was fake gold, it was a fake gun.

The Mayberry Game is so much fun. I played it with my niece, Alexis and
my nephew, JR. They just loved it. They played with Andy's toys, his
marbles and had a great time visiting Andy's Homeplace. It is an event
I will never forget!

The other night on TAGS I thought I heard Opie say Abyssinia to Andy. It seems
to me that I've seen that word on the bulletin board, but I never knew to what
it referred. Andy said something back to Opie but I didn't catch it. Would
any of you guys care to expound on what I thought I heard? Thanks ever so much.

>>do you know the chords/lyrics to the Rafe
Hollister funeral song? You know, Anj sings it when
Rafe won't get his
shot. "Dig my graaaaaaaveeee with a silver spade"<<
I've never heard the entire song, but Am/Dm/Am/E/Am
gets it done. There are websites out there that have
guitar tabs for just about every song ever written.

Hung for being a sheep farmer? Wow, and I thought Andy was being mean
when he was writing vehicle equipment tickets and fining husband and
wife chicken throwers and whatnot.
I wonder what the Duke gave as punishment for Moonshinin'? I think he
needed to grab his frying pan and some bacon and head off into the woods
for a few days to relax, that's what I think.

As the great Pop vs Soda vs Coke debate rages on, there is actually web site
that plots what parts of the country calls it what. Very interesting.

Hey everybody, just sitting here feeling sorry for myself that I won't be able
to be in Mt. Airy this weekend for Mayberry Days. I reckon I'll just have to
go over to the drugstore and have a lemon phosphate, and maybe the
businessman's special, you know......a hollowed out tomato with avacado in it.
Then to further comfort myself I reckon I'll go over and watch them change the
marquee at the Grand.
I have been trying to write back to Jenny Chapman, but each time I try to send
some information she asked for it won't go through. Hey Jenny, if your out
there I tried, feel free to e-mail me back and I'll double check the address.

...........no thank Leon............

May be the picture was rolling vertically and that was the best way Opie could
think of to describe it.

I happened to see the episode "Helen's Part" where the rumor of Helen's
arrest almost costs her her teaching job. I was wondering about the role
of Mrs. Pendleton. I remember in the next episode, where Emmitt buys a
fur coat for his wife, Martha, that she is explained to have come to stay
with the Taylors for a few days while Aunt Bee is away. I am curious, if
anyone knows, as to the reason why Frances Bavier was absent from the
show during this period. Mayberry says thanks and happy motoring!!! Johnny
Paul from Portland, Oregon, recipient of one jar of kerosene pickles.
