The other night on TAGS I thought I heard Opie say Abyssinia to Andy. It
seems to me that I've seen that word on the bulletin board, but I never knew
to what it referred. Andy said something back to Opie but I didn't catch
it. Would any of you guys care to expound on what I thought I heard?
Thanks ever so much.

Carol,an observer in training.

We used to say it as a joke way of saying "I'll be seein ya'". And the
other one is "Samoa", which of course means "some more". I think...

Hello Fellow Mayberryites who are at home missing Mayberry Days...or will
read this when they return.

I was doing some Bible reading and found perhaps the source of Barney's
famous rule number 1. Deut 6:2 "Obey all his rules and commands I give you
so that you will live a long time" It makes ya think.

In watching the "Family Visit" episode, I noticed that Howard McNear was
given a credit...but in the cut version I saw he does not appear. Anyone
know what he says or does in this show?

While we're talking about Harvey Bullock, I believe he also wrote some
M*A*S*H episodes. Very talented guy.

Also on "Family Visit" it seems like they jump from night to day
sporadically. Check me on that.

Were Opie an Goober the only ones on the show ever shown shirtless?

Hey paw, shoot me the sugar

In my post about the movie 'Big Jake', John Wayne saves Bernard Fox, aka
Malcolm Merriweather, from being hung.
The men who were about to hang him were cattle farmers. One of the men who
wanted to hang the sheep farmer, Malcolm,
was played by Jim Davis who played Jock Ewing on Dallas.
Remember at the time cattle farmers hated sheep farmers, because the sheep
would eat too much grass and the cattle
would not have enough food.

And to everyone who e-mailed me about the TAGS game, thank you for the
information.

Everyone have a great time at Merryberry Days.

In last nights UPN episode of TAGS when Opie was
selling Miracle Salve, black-listing is referred to.
Are they possibly referring to the 1950's era McCarthy
black-listing?

Hey Jeff,
Did you happen to notice that the sheep farmer was none other than our
very own Malcolm Merriweather. I guess he made a wrong turn on his bike. He
must have been behaving like a Proper Charlie.
