I'll try a few.....
A "gracious winner" was Clara in the Simmmons Seed Rose Contest -- by
taking up Aunt Bee's picture of her rose and telling the judges that Bee
should have won.
One of the "sorest losers" was Opie -- when he did not win the 50 yard dash
race. I also think that he falls into the "who learned the most from
losing" because he could not stand it that his Pa was disappointed in him.
One of the "most surprising" was Erma Bishop when she won the Miss Mayberry
Beauty Contest.
Andy also "learned the most from losing" when Karen beat him at skeet
shooting. He learned not to judge people and ran after Karen to apologize.
A "regretful winner" was also Opie -- when he won the Grocery Store job and
then learned that the other boy needed the job to help his parents pay
bills.

Now I have to agree that Goober could be seeing a young version of
Mrs.. Mendlebright in those Tarzan comics. It has been rumoured that
Miss Mendlebright actully took Ollies goosedown pillow which caused a
rift between she and Nora. That led to the real Battle of Mayberry.but
no essay contest. It was mentioned in Mayberry after
Midnight and later pick up by The National Enquirer. Thankfully
there was no comnet from Mayberry . I have heard Paticia Cornwall is on
the case.though.
Anyway. I must say that the fiercest competator in Mayberry
was Clara Edwards and she was the worst loser. too. Floyd was not
such a great loser either. Hmmmm. They would have made an intereseting
couple . His Pansies her White Roses. Ya never know.
Loved them both . though.
Have a great day. And remember to keep using those 40 watt bulbs.

I don't think so, Michael. After all, Goober called the actress Maureen
O'Sullivan by name, and only identified her as "Jane" in Tarzan when Andy
and Barney didn't recognize her name right away.

In the episode where Barney gets locked in the bank vault, he escapes by
crashing through the beauty shop wall. Later on, in the episode "Crime Free
Mayberry", there's a door in the back of the vault. Just an inconsistency I
happened catch. I'm leaving for a trip to China tomorrow and will be taking
the spirit of Mayberry with me.

Hey everyone,
I was thinking of the question from a few weeks back about the phone
conversations you can "hear" from one side of the phone. Did anyone mention
the moment in "Family Visit" when Andy calls to tell Ollie he needs his
help. Andy first speaks with Aunt Bee and for a few words we can hear Aunt
Bee's voice over the phone while the camera is in the court house on Andy.
It that one was already brought up, just give me my bucket.
