Jennie,
What is the Alltel email address?
Also, favorite episode: Opie raises the birds. "Don't
the trees look full".
Any episode where Andy doesn't believe Opie or is
angry with him, but apologizes to him when he realizes
his mistake, i.e. Mr. McBeevey.

Hello ALL,
I posted this a while back with a tentative date of November 8, 2002. The
date has been updated to Friday January 17, 2003.
I thought everyone would find this interesting.
George "Goober" Lindsey will be appearing in Panama City Beach FL at Gulf
World Marine Park. The event is called Legends Fest and will also feature
country singers Gene Watson and Jeannie Seely as well as Ralph Emery from
TNN. Todd Herendeen with The Follow that Dream Band will perform a Tribute
To Elvis.
It is "tentatively" scheduled for January 17, 2003 with a show at 5pm and
8:30pm. You can contact Gulf World Marine Park at 850-234-5271 for more
information or try their website www.gulfworldmarinepark.com, however as of
today, they didn't have any info up there.
I called about it today, and I am in daily contact
with one of the owners of the park and he assures me that he will keep me up
to date on this. George Lindsey's schedule has him at Rock Crusher Canyon
Amphitheater in Crystal River, Fla. Saturday, November 9.
For those that don't know, Panama City Beach is in the Northwest Florida
panhandle between Pensacola and Tallahassee. About 100 miles south of
Dothan, Alabama.
I have no vested interest in promoting this event, I just thought I would
share the info with everybody in WBMUTBB. If there is anyway I can help by
offering directions to our area, hotel recommendations, etc. let me know, as
I live in a showplace at the entrance to town, bought and paid for with
confederate money. Just Kidding.

Howard Mcnair has a stroke after about 3 years on the show. After he
recovered and returned to the show he could not stand safely and walk by
himself so Howard Morris designed a bosin chair for him so it would look
like he was standing. Andy wanted him back on the show because his comic wit
was still sharp and you are right Goobers contest is the last show Howard
Mcnair was in. #1 FAN IN WEST VIRGINIA SUSAN

The recent notes about hearing a familiar voice while watching/listening
to a TV show happened to me this weekend. I was listening to an
internet radio station that featured old radio programs and I recognized
two voices. Actually three, but two from Mayberry. The show was
Gunsmoke before the TV version came out.
Gunsmoke Main Cast:
WILLIAM CONRAD........................Matt Dillon ("Cannon,"
"Nero Wolfe," and "the Fat Man. Also the narrator on Rocky &
Bullwinkle.
HOWARD McNEAR.................Charles "Doc" Adams
GEORGIA ELLIS.......................Kitty Russell
PARLEY BEAR..............Chester Wesley Proudfoot
Gunsmoke was on radio for 9 seasons, from 1952 to 1961. Six seasons
coincided with the TV series

is a tribute to Gunsmoke with four episodes. The first episode is an
audition using a different cast. But the following ones have Parley and
Howard in them. Episode three has both of them at the beginning of the
episode.
Here is a link to a photo of the cast
