Here's a couple of lines that Andy said that just crack me up:
In the one where they gave the pick pocket the key to the
city Barney says "You know Andy,it's a shame about them
fellers that steal". Andy replies,"Yeah, they ought not do
that". In the one where they deputize Gomer & Barney keeps
letting the crooks escape Andy says(after catching them for
the second time)"Barney, we can't have this!"

And I love the line in "A date for Gomer" when Gomer shows
his new wardrobe to Barney & Andy he says of his yellow
socks,"You don't think they're too pourous do you? If they're
too pourous the little hairs stick out."

Dear Friends,

First of all, it has been very interesting to read everyone's favorite
episodes. Dixon wanted me to explain my Love-Hate feelings for Citizen's
arrest, so I will try. Please understand, these are only my opinions and my
opinions are not any better than anybody's elses opinions--they are just mine.
I love that episode because there are moments that are absolutely hilarious!
(Barney in jail w/ otis). The "hate" side, Gomer seems out of character--more
confrontational, --not his usual humble kind-hearted self (until the end).
Also, I found Barney to be out of character toward Andy. He really pushed the
envelope, I thought.

Aunt Bee (Ruth)...it was a toss-up for me on the Father-Son episode. I too
loved Opie, the Birdman, but Opie and the Bully moved me more. I also loved
Mr. McBeevee....as someone pointed out--any epsiode where Andy didn't believe
Opie and then at the end had to apologize to him, were great episodes.

Melody, I loved your list! Thanks to the rest who responded with their faves!

Franklin

Hey all you fans! I have been looking every where for Andy Griffith Show =
checks. And, much to my disappointment no luck. I e-mailed one of the ch=
eck printing companies and made the suggestion to them. They were quick t=
o reply saying that they would look into it. Maybe if we all bombarded t=
hem with the same suggestion they would definitely print some for us! If =
you are interested the address is www.check in the mail.com or [EMAIL

Also noticed in the episode, "Goobers Contest", when Goober goes back to the
printers to complain about the prizes they printed and put in the envelopes,
one of the printers was a young Rob Reiner - who we all know as "Meathead" on
"All in the Family".

  Just found the following at
http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/anewsome/private/floydbio.htm

In Richard Kelly's book, The Andy Griffith Show, Andy Griffith had the
following to say about actor Howard McNear (Floyd):
"Howard, first of all, was a leading man in the San Diego theatre years ago.
He never was in New York in his life. He developed this comic character, I
believe, on The Jack Benny Show. Howard was a nervous man and he became that
man, Floyd.

Then Howard had a stroke and was bad off for a long time. He was out of our
show for about a year and three-quarters. We did a lot of soft shows, that is,
those that were not hard on comedy -- stories about the boy or the aunt. But
we needed comedy scenes to break up things.

We were working on a script one day, and Aaron [Ruben] said, `Boy do I wish
we had Howard.' And one of us said, `Why don't we see if we can get him.' So
right then we called up Howard's house and we got his wife, Helen. `Oh,' she
said, `it would be a godsend.'

Well, we wrote him a little scene. He was paralyzed all down his left side
and so we couldn't show him walking. We had him sitting or we built a stand
that supported him. He could then stand behind the barber chair and use one
hand. Most of the time, however, we had him sitting. His mind was not affected
at all. He was with us about two years after that before he died. Finally poor
Howard died. I'm sorry because there was never anyone like him. Kind, kind
man."

To all TAGS fans,

I just recieved my "Mayberry Mania" game. I want to tell all that it is so
much fun that I have played it 5 times in 2 evenings.

My daughter, who married in Jan. 2002, has visited more since I purchased
that game as she is finding herself a fan too..

Purchase it from "Weavers Dept. Store" because it is a lot cheaper and you
get a newsletter and a list of other neat items from TAGS.
