My favorite is as follows:

Barn's first love interest was none other than "Miss Rosemarie". He knew it
was love because he noticed that she wore a different shirtwaist to preaching
every Sunday, when he would take the "long way around" to walk her to church.
Unfortunately, as Andy observed, Miss Rosemarie "didn't think nothin' of
herself either - they're like two peas in a pod."

Wonder if they ever made it to the picture show?

LOL very funny...

George Lindsey's hometown of Jasper, Alabama and Jim Nabors' hometown of
Sylacauga in the same state, both have major highways named in honor of their
contributions to Mayberry. There's even a small museum devoted to Nabors
adjacent to the Sylacauga library.

That was Miss Rosemary.

I got into a discussion with some other men not long ago about what works in
attracting women, and a woman says she sometimes thinks it's cute when guys
are a little nervous. One guy laughed and said, "Yeah, right, if that were
true Barney Fife would be (getting lucky) left and right." I then pointed
out that Barney had not only Thelma Lou, but had something goin' on the side
with Juanita down at the diner *and* Skippy the fun girl. (Not to mention
Don was apparently a player in real life in the '60s.) We all agreed maybe
ol' Barn was onto something. ;-)

Hey All,

I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving! We surely did, can't
you always tell when the food is yummy; everyone at the table doesn't start any
conversations until they have those first few bites!! Yum! Yum!

I also wanted to say a special thank you to Allan also, for the digest and all
he does to make it possible for us to enjoy it. God will bless you Allan,
because through your efforts so many find joy and contentment talking about
TAGS!! As Gomer would say: "Thank ye! Thank ye! Thank ye!

In the last digestJohn Skaggs asked about the name of Barney's first
girlfriend, and I believe I am correct in saying it was "Miss Rosemary". She
did some sewing for Andy, brought it by the courthouse and that's when Andy
found out that Barney had been walking her to church on Sunday. Andy later
tried to get them together when Miss Rosemary brought Andy an apple pie over to
his house that she had promised him. The actress who played Miss Rosemary was
Amzie Strickland, and she also played Otis' sister in law, "Verlene" in the
episode where Otis' brother Ralph came to visit I believe. Somebody correct me
if I'm wrong but I put my bucket on and that's who I came up with.

Everybody enjoy your leftover turkey, and good luck at the mall's becasue they
surely must be packed today.

......."Is he one of ourn?...Oh Yeah he's agreeing with you....Just so's I know
where I stand.........

Barney's first girl was Miss Rosemary. He wouldn't ask her
for a date so Andy forces the issue by asking her with Barney standing right
there. This forces Barney to speak up. "With all the shoe leather I have
invested her, I should have the first right to ask her for a date". Barney
walked her to preaching every Sunday and also noticed she wore a different
color shirtwaist(whatever that is) every Sunday.

About a month ago someone posted to the Digest with
the notes that you play on the cellphone keypad to get
the tags theme. If possible could you email me
personally with that info? Thanks in advance and
everyone have a Mayberry kind of day! [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Mayberry that had passed away. I didn,t know the woman who played Helen
Crump had passed on. If this is true, how old was she?
    Everyone on the truck, Chris

In thinking of all the joy Mayberry brings to us all I wrote this poem
for Christmas, I hope you enjoy it: Theres a quiet snow a fallin' &
theres singing all
around, for you see its Christmastime in my TV Hometown. The Taylor
family are all
home, there decorating there Christmas tree & Barney Fife is dressed as
Santa, to
Opie's heart it will bring glee. The Darlins' & Ernest T. are brewin'
moonshine,
there just tryin' to stay warm, while Floyd, Howard, Emmett & Goober are
swappin'
stories that have charm. It's Christmastime in Mayberry, a favorite
time of year,
it brings to many happiness, and to my eye it brings a tear. Cousin
Gomer's in
the Murines, but his heart is never far, for in the TV universe,
Mayberry's a
shining star! WE LOVE YOU MAYBERRY!......Written by Dave Millard.....on
