I saw the episode where opie broke a bottle of perfume and replaced it. I
always
thought opie was a pretty smart cookie, but breaking a bottle of perfume
and not
realizing that it was just colored water by the fact that it didn't have
any smell, was
kind of Goober'ish.

I'll be offline for the rest of the week, but I've asked Goober to mind the
courthouse for me. Y'all just talk amongst yourselves 'til I get back.

Hello All,
Does anyone have a great copy of the tv land special on TAGS that ran the
other night. I only caught the last 5 minutes. I would prefer a copy
without the commercials as I want to convert it to a VCD format. I would
accept it with commercials it would just take me longer to convert.
I would also offer it to any members of the digest free of charge for the
cd + shipping( just actual shipping cost) when I am done
I would be happy to pay shipping and cost of the tape and something for
your trouble.

Hey guys,
I bit the bullet (Barney's) and ordered the Andy Griffith tapes from CH.
I got the first one as a special offer for only $9.99 including shipping and
handling. I can't wait for the next to arrive. I agree with all of the trained
thinkers out there who advocate that we buy from Columbia House so they will
know there's a market for the tapes. Incidentally, I was Christmas shopping
today and saw TAGS in DVD. Since I don't have a DVD I didn't get 'em, but am
wondering if they are the same as available on VHS tape - the ones with the
correct theme song. I think my Christmas wish for Count Istvan Telecky is for
ownership of all of the episodes of TAGS on VHS - completely UNEDITED and in
order. Can you do that, Count? (He sure is lively tonight.) For Christmas,
let Andy and Ellie Walker serenade you with 'Away in a Manger' while ol' Ben
Weaver drinks Sam Muggins' moonshine. Ben was feeling mighty low.

sorry to bother everyone again with this question, but try to understand, it is
like one of those things in which your mind cannot rest until it is known. you
can e-mail the answer to me if you'd like. the "Juanita, Juanita,
Juanite...from her head to her feet..." poem that barney recites in one of the
episodes? which episode was that scene in? i'd be much obliged.
oh, how the mind fails us from time to time! i wonder what causes that?

I have heard the song "Floyd the Barber" that was on
"Bleach", the first album by Nirvana. It mentions
Barney, Floyd, Aunt Bee and Opie, but in a rather
disturbing way. It's really not worth any time or
effort to find it.

The title of the song is "Ciribiribin" (pronounced CHEER-a-BEER-a-BIN) and
was recorded in 1939 by Harry James and his big band with the vocal by a
young Frank Sinatra. I don't remember off hand, but this may have been one
of Barney's famous mispronunciations, which would account for some of the
confusion over the song's title. Since you have been puzzling over this for
many a moon, I thought you'd want to know!
By the way, I'm not so old that I remember the song first hand (I was born
twenty years after the fact). Actually, I think I came across the
information in a nifty little magazine under the heading of "Odd Facts Known
by Few." ;-)

It's actually "Ciribiribim," a hit song recorded by The Andrew Sisters in
1939.

Hey folks,
I thought you'd find it funny to know that I've put myself on the "moderated
posts" list so that all my messages to the WBMTUBB Digest have to be approved
(by me) before they make it to the list.
I did it to try and stop those virus looking e-mails from getting through to
you looking like they come from me. :-)
