Mothers Day weekend. How many mothers in Mayberry can you think of?
Aunt Bee? No
Ellie Mae? no
Clara? yes
Thelma Lou? No
Hilda Mae? No (by the way am I spelling Mae right? is it May?)
Lydia? No
Helen? No
Jennie? Not that I know of.......Help me out on this....might be fun to run
with.
And speaking of Andy and Helen, I have often wondered how Andy could let so
many pretty girls slip through....Ellie May, Nurse Mary, the other Nurse
Mary, Thelma Lou's cousin Karen, Peggy....I'm sure I'm missing someone....
then comes Helen... and Andy, although still reluctant to marry ....is
pretty well a settled man. You know it happens about the same time Ernest T
discovers Helen as his mother figure. You don't suppose Helen was Andy's
mother figure too?
The weekend is here.....how about some homemade ice cream? I'll get the
strawberrys and the rock salt. Happy Mothers Day to you and yours.
