Well, just got back from the "pilgrimmage" to Mt. Airy that I make about
this time every year. I started my day off with a Russell Hiatt haircut at
Floyd's. He seems to be doing fine and still cuts hair well. He is as nice as
ever
and took our picture along with letting us take several. We made it onto
the wall of fame again. What a nice man!!! He said to tell everyone hello, so
"hey" to everyone.....

Then the line was long for the Snappy Lunch, so I went ahead and stood in it
while my wife and daughter went "store shopping." Of course, we had the world
famous Pork Chop Sandwich and it was m-m-m good! Then I went to Weaver's
and bought a few trinkets. After working up a thirst "store shopping," we
headed
over to Wally's for an RC and a moon pie. We rocked on the front porch with
Goober, and then went over and "played jail" at the courthouse. My
eight-year-old liked the jail! This year they also had Howard Sprague's office
which I
had not seen before. It was right next to the Mayberry Courthouse..... I got
my picture in Goober's tow truck too.....

Yes, it was a great day. We did not go to the museum, but we did stop by the
Chamber of Commerce. There is also Barney's Cafe which I had not noticed
before. Oops, and I almost forgot the visit to Opie's Candy Store, where I saw
every type of candy I could ever remember. It was a great day!!! Can't wait to
go back!!!
