I'm teaching a college statistics course to a class of adult (i.e. "older") students, and we were talking about discrete data, expected value, and such (stay with me here) last week. To illustrate a point, I asked what's the greatest TV show that's ever been. Almost to a person, they answered TAGS. I asked if they recalled the episode where it was revealed there's "x" number of needy boys per square mile. Almost in unison, they replied "Poor Horatio." I felt as proud as Ernest T when he received his award "for learning."
