Somewhere around here, I've got an old cassette tape which includes that beautiful song, and several other TAGS tribute songs and parodies. IMO the best Mayberry parodies are "Do the Barney Fife" (a parody of "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits), "We Love Barney Fife" (a parody of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire") and "Aunt Bee" (a parody of "Windy" by The Association -- this parody includes one line of lyrics which is rather crude -- it's not exactly obscene, but it's definitely un-Mayberry-like). Other TAGS parodies I remember hearing many years ago on the Dr. Demento Show are "Without My Mayberry" (a parody of "With or Without You" by U2) and "Mayberry Beret" (a parody of "Raspberry Beret" by the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince). Does anybody happen to have recordings of these, or any other TAGS parodies? I have the ability to convert cassettes to .mp3 format, but I don't know how to put the files online where others could listen to them. If anybody knows how to do that, let me know. --Paul Mulik _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://mail.wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
