Folks,

The 15th Anniversary month is here and I've been looking through the
"old" files I have on my computers related to our chapters beginnings.
In that search I found a letter I wrote to Jim Clark on November 4, 1991
requesting the Chapter name "Who's Been Messin' Up the Bulletin Board?"
be voted on to be our online chapter's official name. At the time the
chapter members were meeting on the "Prodigy" computer network.

Below is said "letter" (it's an old "Word" document which was snail
mailed to TAGSRWC HQ).

TAGSRWC: "Mother Figure" Chapter

Hey Jim,

I sent you the software for the Prodigy system the other day. I
hope you get it pretty soon. I had a chance to get some free software
so I thought of you up there in the Big city. I realize things are kind
of tight for you right now but I figured you wouldn't mind gettin' some
software for nothin'.

Anyway, what I'm really writtin' about is: Do you remember when I
was talkin' to you about starting a "honorary" chapter on Prodigy.
Well, all the folks on the board loved the idea. So, we voted on a name
for our chapter and here's what we decided on:

"Who's been messin' up the bulletin board?"

I sure hope that one hasn't been used yet. We thought that it fit
well with the fact that Prodigy is a bulletin board service.

Well, I'm sendin' you my dues for the upcoming year. I'll still
be a member of "Mother Figure" and an honorary member of "Who's been
messin' up the bulletin board?" Let me know if we can use that name or
not. If we can't our second choice is, "Studying the old bulletin
board, huh?" Just let me know and I'll tell all the folks on Prodigy.

I don't want to take up anymore of your time. I really enjoyed
talkin' to Mary and you at Opryland. (And meetin' your parents.) I
hope they do that again.

                                    Sincerely,

                                    Allan
Newsome
                                    "Brother Figure"

Tomorrow, for those interested, I'll post from March 10, 1991 of the
Members of the yet to be formed WBMUTBB. I know Bob Bravatti and myself
are STILL members from way back then but I'm looking forward to seeing
whom else is an "old old old timer" here. :)

Happy Anniversary WBMUTBB!
