I would love to retire to a place like Mayberry! I would just love to
retire! But then, I guess I have bunches and bunches of years left before I
can do that. My father in law just retired about 2 years ago, and my dad
hasn't retired yet, altho he could if he wanted to. So I have many years
left before I can retire, but I can dream about living in Mayberry when I do
retire.

I just got TAGS season 6 today for my birthday present from my husband. I
know, we're behind on getting our dvds when they come out, but we just have
to wait till we have the funds. It was a nice present, tho, and he even
asked me about it before I had to remind him what I wanted. Actually, my
B-day isn't until Monday, but I got my present a little early since we were
already at the W**-M***. He likes TAGS, too, but not like I do. I could
definitely qualify for a Mayberry retirement village home, but I'd have to
see if he could squeak by in getting accepted. :)

I think a modern day show (not on the air now, but still more modern day
than TAGS) was the Cosby Show. Cliff and Claire obviously loved their
children, were good, hardworking and smart people, but they could still let
their children know right from wrong in a stern way, just like Andy could do
with Opie. If Andy's main focus on TAGS was to show the love between
characters, I think the Cosby Show did that, also. They showed respect to
their elders, and also to their children, and they wanted to give their
children the best they could without spoiling them rotten. I know that they
were much better off materially than the people in Mayberry, but the love
was very obvious on both shows. I also agree about Everybody Loves Raymond.
They are a lot more dysfunctional than TAGS or Cosby, but they do love each
other. That show is hilarious, too!

Thanks for reading, and y'all have a Mayberry Day! Lisa
