After watching the episode Opie and the Bully for umpteen times I noticed something for the first time. When Andy went up to Opie's room to talk to him about the milk money Opie had a sling shot in his hand and Andy took it away and set it on the table while he talked with Opie. Soooooooo, Opie did have a slingshot prior to Barney making him one. Now wasn't it nice of Opie not to say a thing to Barney about that so Barney could explain how they worked and demonstrate how to use them.
