Hi, I chewed tar as a kid, too. We had a brick paved street that had been
tarred over. In the summer sun the tar would bubble up. We simply pulled off a
piece and voila--chewing gum. Got my first job at nine (unloading straw bails
off a train car) and I bought that black gum they used to sell.
