Dear TAGS Friends,
I'm a librarian, and it never dawned on me that I hadn't heard of a public
library
in Mayberry until Andy took Opie to the library in Mount Pilot to research the
Battle of Mayberry.
Opie looks so nice in his coat and tie... now kids come in with skateboards or
skooters, they wear torn pants that barely stay up, and use profanity to
library staff. A few months ago a lady slapped another lady in the face while
arguing over an internet station.
I long for a Mayberry more and more.
