I was over at the Dime Store laying in a supply of colorful buttons when I
mournfully asked Laura Lee Hobbs, why Didin't Thelma Lou tell anyone when
she got married? Why oh Why?
She certainly knew about Sarah, so a quick call to Aunt Bee or Helen would
have seemed likely--and if she was afraid to speak to them on account of
avoiding a painful subject - Barney- then why not a note? And especially after
receiving her
invitation to the reunion; she should have said something to someone.
But nooooo, daddy. This girl kept her mouth quite and her writing hand still.
So she goes to the Reunion, is the last one to arrives, makes a big entrance,
waltzes in, a-dragging that husband of hers behind her, ruining everything.
I got so upset at just thinking about it there was nothing left for me to do but
to bundle up my buttons and head for home.
I left Laura Lee Hobbs a mass of human misery as well.

Lydia, "I can't stand a surprise. I don't mind a minor bolt from the blue
every now
and then. But I can't stand a surprise."
And this was a SURPRISE!
